Information

Battlegroup Hyperion is a group of Auxesian Defectors who have grown disillusioned with Auxesia. They feel it has lost its direction and forgotten the values it was founded upon. Hyperion seeks to return to those times through war against its progenitor, forcefully dismantling and taking over its leadership, before founding the Hyperion Free State in Inverness - with Forres as a capital - funded through the sale of alien technology and AP- ships to other states and groups.

History

Maria Susan was a distinguished captain in the Auxesia Naval Fleet. Once a Freelancer, she had been drawn to Auxesia by their promise as a sturdy bulwark against the Nomad threat. Initially she had planned to join The Order, however, she had become aware of the extreme methods they had adopted after Toledo and their extreme policy when it came to handling Nomadic materials. She had then considered The Core, but beneath their shouts of heroism and strength, she saw something more twisted, evil and antagonistic.

Frustrated that she could suit neither role, she had almost given up her dream of following the footsteps of the Lone Star. Then, by pure chance, she had a run in encounter with Saphire Raven - the leader of Auxesia. After listening to convictions, Maria was sold. This group was perfect. It lacked the imperfections of Core and Order. It was as if both groups had fused into this future power against the Nomad threat, and retained none of their negatives. Wasting no time, Maria signed up. She was given command of a freshly built Pleco Gunboat, and a complementary mask, and was tasked with destroying Auxesia's enemies.

For the next year, life was pleasant. Maria, now Sentinel Annihilator, had asserted her position as a high ranking member of the Auxesian fleet. She had gained a sterling reputation among a handful of other exemplary pilots within the organisation. Maria had been the brain behind increasing the faction's numbers through the construction of robots, which had proven to be life-saving as recruitment waned and people realised they couldn't just make babies and use them as crew, or do anything crazy like hyper-acelerate their growth rate and turn them into adult super soldiers.

However, this happiness would not last for long. Over time, Maria began to see considerable shifts in the faction's ethos. Auxesia believed in keeping away from conflicts out of their concern, yet would frequently intervene in House politics and inter-factional wars, and try to challenge all the parties invovled. Auxesia had boasted it was inclusive, transhumanist, and wanted to protect and preserve the overall human race; yet their leader espoused viewpoints related to eugenics and the concept of inferior race. Auxesia had also begun to mingle with Nomadic forces and their allies, contradicting the goals they stood for.

Maria had seen enough. She gathered close friends and cohorts and defected from the group. With 2,000 people by her side, she fled from the Citadel and to Planet Forres in the Inverness system. Quickly, they constructed a new base of operations, in which they would conduct operations against the growing Nomad menace in the system and Auxesia itself.

Objectives

  • Establishment of the Hyperion Free State in Inverness, with Forres as a capital.
  • Destruction of the Nomad threat and extensive research of their technologies.
  • Reformation of Auxesia.

This is a big work in progess! This has been something we've been planning for a while, and hope to refine over the next several weeks. We look forward to lots of ingame encounters and roleplay. Please give your feedback.

Very interesting and I've got a character which is 100% bespoke and exists primarily *for* this, so I'll likely enlist.

You're missing Unioner Syndicates off your peaceful category.

Feel free to apply then, or that's what I'd say if our recruitment wasnt locked......

I go off to play Apex for a little bit and come back to find the recruitment locked! Why is it locked??? No PM either?

People were posting meme apps in your recruitment thread, hence they closed it.

Some people circulated the assumption that this is a April Fools joke, which it could well be due to the timing. My application was serious, providing that this isn't an april fools joke. =3

Excuse me, but when is defection roleplay not serious? You'rettalking about 2000 people on the run here. My name IRL is Maria and my mother is called Susan, so I thought it'd be original to combine the two names.

EDIT: Just seen that this has been moved to flood. I'm devastated, and horrified that the community thinks my roleplay is a joke. I didn't even get to the animal/human hybridization projects yet :/

RE: Battlegroup Hyperion || The Defectors - nevrozac - 04-01-2019

you should defect from the nomad factions and use their tech instead

RE: Battlegroup Hyperion || The Defectors - sindroms - 04-01-2019

Can force-retired staff do a defecation RP from the Admins? Like, some sort of fallen divinities stuff?

RE: Battlegroup Hyperion || The Defectors - pillow - 04-01-2019

maria susan is my favorite mass effect character
