Ever since the deployment of the Betheny and the Caracassone to Cortez and California, crucial wartime supplies from Liberty have been operating under the constant threat of interdiction. The deployment of the Battlegroups Yukon and Alma in response has relieved the pressure slightly, but nevertheless the trickle of supplies into New London has become untenable since the sabotage of the Poole-Alberta jump corridor. With this blockade in place, it has become impossible for Ageira to conduct repairs on the stricken Poole hypergate.

With Royal Navy forces at the doorstep of Bretonia’s capital planet, an eleventh hour ambush is underway. Codenamed Operation Vanguard, the joint Bretonian-Libertonian operation seeks the destruction of the Betheny battlegroup and the lifting of the Cortez blockade. The Battlegroups Alma and Harlow have already been rapidly re-deployed into Cortez, utilizing the tense standoff between Betheny and Yukon to force a confrontation. Outnumbered three to one, there is little hope for a bloodless conclusion to this clash of titans.

The outcome of this event is fixed.

Players will be able to affect minor changes to the outcome based on score.

As with other score-based combat events, there will be prizes based on score.
