Halo PC/CE Noobs, Player count, etc... - sempai17 - 03-03-2009 I need to vent someplace else other than my clan forum cause they always agree with me and I need input from another source... so... I run and manage a Halo PC/CE Gaming clan (???Ť) and one of the things that irks me is the 10-13 year olds that think they can join on a CLAN server and expect to WTFPWNZ everybody. When hey do, they get on... spawn... grabs the sniper... stands IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MAP-not to mention he is STANDING STILL- then take a bullet to the face... then... has the audacity of saying "U all bunch of n00bz using aimbots" -3 words, DON'T STAND STILL!!!!!! GAH!!!! AIMbotters.... ARGG!!! Honesty, do you have no skill on computer games? I mean really! It's only going to inhibit you in the long run.... your target A is in your bot sights, target b ends up behind you and smacks you in the back of the head...bot's aren't hard to detect people!! YARG!!! back to the kid noobs- Have you ever been in a game with these things? they curse non stop! What is it with kids these days, My clan mates don't curse that much (save few)! They are not civil and they are not courteous to the host clan... not to mention the leader, and definitely not nice to the admins of said server! *Vein pops* Okay.. enough for now.... but I'll be back with more grievances if i find any. Halo PC/CE Noobs, Player count, etc... - Boss - 03-03-2009 I just run them over with a Banshee. Halo PC/CE Noobs, Player count, etc... - DeathsOverture - 03-03-2009 You just reminded me that I need to <strike>stir up</strike> kill my Diablo II battlenet account. That's why you just find a server with good players. Halo PC/CE Noobs, Player count, etc... - tfmachad - 03-03-2009 As for children, I blame parents who do not properly (for whatever reason) educate them. Children messing up on game servers is just an aspect of the problem, some children just can't socialize in a civil manner because they were raised to believe (or weren't thought otherwise) that the world revolves around them. There's a myriad of issues that compound to that. It's a common thing for both father and mother to work outside the house, not being able to be around their children as they would like to or as they believe they should. They feel guilty about it and then spoil their children trying to compensate for, relaxing on restrictions they should impose, not punishing them when they do bad things and so forth. Also, people blindly buy anything written in such "How to educate a child in ten easy steps", just because this or that book happens to be signed by some "doctor" they never heard of before, and who probably never even been near an actual child. Finally, children are impervious to being educated by society when their parents fail in that. Where I live, school teachers were rendered impotent to try and instill any sense of civility to children. In fact, they have been stripped all powers they once had, even those directly associated with class and education matters, just because every children is, "Oh, so special...", and "God" forbid, anyone but the parents entertaining any voice of authority over them, lest them traumatize the child for life. But wait! Parents have no time to spend educating their children anymore... This isn't recent, some of the spoiled children from the late eighties, early nineties are adults now and you don't have to look too hard to find them little obnoxious adult-brats. I know a few of them myself. Good thing is that real life does reserve certain harsh lessons that can affect even adults and some people will learn better even despite their upbringing. Some will not. Along the lines of something George Carlin once said, "Modern society has developed a fetich for children. It's bull**** and it's bad for you." Halo PC/CE Noobs, Player count, etc... - Sassafras - 03-03-2009 Gronath, I liked your "parenting" post. I wanted to add something but the issue was so large for me that I didn't know where to start. I use to be a school teacher. Actually, I tried the job out for two years teaching 6th grade--about 12-13 year olds. It was a horrible experience. Partly because of my lack of classroom management skills and experience. Even though I would try to create the most fun and interesting lessons, it was a huge challenge. Not all, but the kids had no desire to learn, little to no self discipline, nor any support from their parents. Average reading level was 3rd grade, so reading the grade level materials was very difficult for them. Many were in gangs and or lived in foster homes, so they had so many personal and social issues to deal with that it boggled the mind--or mine at least. I would have parent-teacher conferences or open houses and none of the parents would come. There were several reasons for this. Partly because it was a single-parent home and the parent was working two minimum wage jobs to survive. The other part was that the parents didn't care. Homework was rarely or never done. The authority I had over the kids in terms of discipline was after-school detention or missing recess. But really, they didn't care. The problems and issues in their lives were so great that detention paled in comparison. Given their problems in school and life, they loved video games! Anyway, there's my sad thoughts and probably a bit off topic. Sass Halo PC/CE Noobs, Player count, etc... - tfmachad - 03-03-2009 As exaggerated and grim as it may appear, "Idiocracy" comes to mind every now and again. I don't know why some people actually bother having children in the first place, since they seem not to be at all interested in raising other people. I don't know for a fact, but I have some ideas: Some people have children out of fear of being alone (same reason why some marry other people). Some are fooled by society into believing children are just too cute not to have them. Some are convinced by religion that procriating is <some entity's> commandment. Nothing against that one in particular or anyone's belief, but where is religion afterwards to assure that those <entity's> "children" are being properly educated and taken care off? Some have children as to garner work force for the family. As controversial/funny(?)/sad as it may sound, this, to me, appears to be the saner of these possibilities. Halo PC/CE Noobs, Player count, etc... - TDLdark - 03-04-2009 Heh...I know what you mean....being a Halo PC player for more than half a decade, I've seen my fair share. Keep in mind that at one time you were a "noob". Online games will always be filled with such players. The important part of playing is realizing that these players exist and not getting worked up about them. Just ignore them. If they get really annoying...well..there's nothing stopping you from banning or kicking them, though be warned, for each one you kick, another will eventually come... However, a few tips. Get Sightjacker. Allows you to see who bots or not (though it's kinda easy to tell if you just spend enough time learning to recognize one. Personally, I play Halo trial more often than Halo PC. Why? Because Halo PC is highly modified and many servers have, in my opinion, retarded features. 70% of the servers seem to be Snipe no shield servers, which requires little skill. However, in Halo trial, few servers have that ability to access such options. And...just if anyone cares, I'm part of the clan r3 But I don't think anyone does....:( ' Wrote:I run and manage a Halo PC/CE Gaming clan (???Ť) and one of the things that irks me is the 10-13 year olds that think they can join on a CLAN server and expect to WTFPWNZ everybody. Besides the 10-13 year old part....I fall into that category... :( Not becuase I stand and aimbot...but becuase I think 90% of the players on PC don't know how to play.... I'm such a elitist.... *sigh* Halo PC/CE Noobs, Player count, etc... - Thor22 - 03-04-2009 ' Wrote:Yeah <strike>FPS</strike> multiplayer servers can be sometimes crawling with teenage idiocy. Not exclusive to FPS games and teenagers unfortunately Swifty, the internet - while still 'srs biznizz' - is rife with truly awful people as i'm sure you know, the extreme cases of this taking place on the (largly unmoderated) world of Xbox Live where all your friendly racists/homophobes/etc reside. As i've recently gotten into Battlefield 2, I find myself frustrated when you find the best little nook ever to hide in and snipe from, only for "[OMG]-IMAPWNU-[O_o]" to instantly find you and shoot you dead. Although, not enough for me to scream either through chat or voice chat, but I have still seen it happen. If I were playing Halo for the first time online, I would probably be the first to stand in the middle of the map with a sniper rife and wonder why I was killed before I could even look down the scope. But after a few weeks of Battlefield, I now understand how nice it is to finally get more kills than times killed in a match. ...Especially when two of your kills are Chris (Silent Assassin):tease: |
