The empire of the Dom'Kavash spanned unimaginable distances, covering entire sectors connected by their advanced technology such as the hyper gates.
When they disappeared, they left behind guardians to protect their legacy; the Nomads. The Nomads in the Sirius sector had the misfortune of coming across primitive primates, darklings, in the space they were entrusted with and have since fought them.
Meanwhile however, in the far reaches of the Aurora sector, the Nomads have flourished unopposed. For untold millenia their numbers grew unchecked and their influence spread until the whole of the Aurora sector was under their undisputed control. As advanced as the Nomads are, when faced with such overwhelming numbers and little resources; they turned upon each other.
It started with a single Nomad; in a moment of what soon became the first experience of fear to the Nomads in the sector, it managed to infect another Nomad. This concept was completely alien, was it a freak of nature? A cruel play of evolution? At any rate, it heralded the first of a new type of Nomad: The D'huum Tu Vong.
While the Nomads in the Aurora sector were instantly aware of this new threat to their form of existance, they were unable to defend themselves against it. One had become two, two became four, four became eight. The Nomads were infected at an alarming rate, those that managed to destroy the D'huum Tu Vong coming for them, eventually fell against the seemingly endless tide.
Eventually all of the Aurora sector had fullen under D'huum Tu Vong control, causing the new brood to set its sights on the other parts of their former masters empire.
Recently, a few scout drones of the D'huum Tu Vong have arrived in the Sirius sector; looking for new territory and fresh stock of Nomads to infect and enslave.
D'huum Tu Vong Goals
Increase the populace of infected Nomad slaves.
The D'huum Tu Vong have evolved in what is effectively a facultative parasite much like the real world amazon ant. Capturing and enslaving fellows from other hives and incorporating them within their own mindshare. This is the most common way for The D'huum Tu Vong to expand.
Gain more territory.
The D'huum Tu Vong are ever expanding. In the Sirius sector they are currently mostly focused on exploring, but now that other Nomads have been found the swarms in Aurora have started moving. Soon the might of The D'huum Tu Vong will descend upon Sirius and while the local Nomads will be the first targeted, they will not stop until the Sirius sector falls under their control just like the Aurora sector has.
