Salutations Commodore.

Surely, I find myself as keen as mustard to serve Queen and country bound planetside on Sydney.
A substantial number of the localos are quite insisting on speaking poppycock, referring to the planet by the outdated and primitive name of Gran Canaria.
For all intents and purposes these men and women should well understand that they are now to behave civilised in accord to the standards of Bretonian law and order. Corsair rebels continue to be a fly in the ointment although the recent exposure of a Cretan resistance network operating out of an abandoned meat processing facility was certainly a turn up for the books.

Considerable time has passed since Jolly Gino dared to face our standing forces in the open yet I must dreadfully admit our initial goals to pacify the population and to do so within the designated time frame went for a ball of chalk. Rebel forces frequent our controlled sectors but are just as keen to hop the border into Coalition controlled territory when pursued. A lack of dedication in communication and coordination with the Ivans might be partial to the difficulty of tackling this challenge.

All in all, our spiffing successes on the New Holland front have been a jolly good show so far yet brute force alone does not address every concern. Gary stacks suffers a chronic low on supplies while the piles of gash at the armed forces encampments grow ever taller. Sending such a large number of combat troops to this planet was a marvellous sight to behold, yet its infrastructure leaves much to be desired.

On a more personal note Commodore, I dread each and every time I have to shuttle planetside to oversee our troops.
Although the initial invasion was absolutely capital, I find myself in a state of unrest. May I kindly remind you I have been trained to command a starship?
The boredom creeps up on me as I sit here and cannot deny this planet would be better off with a chief of police or an urban planner instead of a gentleman with my undeniable credentials. It is on that note that I request a transfer to active command away from this blightful planet with its dreadful uncivilised populace.

Pip pip old bean!

Commander,

Your service, and your experience with planet side operations, particularly your ability to deal with Corsairs has been noted. That is why I promoted you to Commander, and placed you under the Stirling battlegroups space borne command, my command.

I had intended to deal with your posting sooner, but New London happened, and I was forced to pull my Dreadnought from Sydney orbit and join the battle with my mobile group.

I have orders prepared for you however. The HMS Vindictive, a Lend Lease Liberty Siege Cruiser Captained by Captain Mark Anston, has suffered critical damage assaulting a Valor in the New London battle, and is currently being towed with surviving crew to Aland to assess the damage.

I am transfering Captain Anston to the HMS Repulse, a newly commissioned Bretonia Battlecruiser arriving from Aland to take advantage of his experience, but the crew, many injured, of the Vindictive remain onboard.

I fear the ship to be a loss, though the crew, and the name, may live on in the form of a new Bretonia Battlecruiser. I have ordered a battlecruiser take in the crew and name, as well as any equipment that can be salvaged from the Vindictive. I hear they have Coffee makers and fast food dispensers, quite the novelty.

Which leads me to you. You are to take command of this new Battlecruiser, and move to New London immediately to take part in the defence.

I also have a task in mind for you, once you are ready.

Commodore John Redmond
Dreadnought Venerable, New London Orbit

Orders understood Commodore!

Suffice to say I am positively chuffed to bits to take on this new challenge!
Not only was Planet Sydney too small to accommodate a gentleman of my ambition and sophistication,
but I have also never seen so many shockingly bad hats in my life!
The crew of the HMS Vindictive, wounded or not, shall be transferred to their new postings and put to jolly good work.
As for myself, I am currently relocating to the new HMS Vindictive post haste to assume command.

Expect her to arrive to the theater of war shortly and in a most orderly fashion.

Pip pip old bean!
