[Official Event] Pyres of Remembrance - Xalrok - 08-13-2019 Pyres of Remembrance New London Atmosphere Siege Event OVERVIEW A week of fierce fighting has left both fleets in orbit of New London battered and broken. Gallia, despite sustaining heavy losses, has punched a hole through the Bretonian blockade. On the home front, the combined Council fleet consisting of the La Fierte, De Grasse, and Pamiers battlegroups, now marches on Gallia's core worlds. With nearly every available resource having been expended on their conquest of Sirius, the situation for the Crown is grim. Though a token defensive force gathers in orbit of New Paris, it seems unlikely that they will be able to hold against the tide of revolution. For the Royalists, the war seems sure to be lost, and Triumph-class destroyers have entered New London's atmosphere in a last ditch effort to break Bretonia's back. These ships are now poised to bombard cities, military installations, and government facilities, including the Buckingham Palace, residence of Queen Carina and the Bretonian Royal Family. The MacDuff has taken up position in low orbit of New London, desperately scrambling fighter and bomber wings to engage Gallia's planet killers. The Dax has followed suit, deploying her own fighter compliment to defend the warships as they complete their work, lancing the Bretonian Capital world with their plasma beams. The final battle for New London has come. DETAILS Date: Saturday, August 17th, 1900-2100 server time

The Triumphs will be static, destructible bases. In order to deal damage to them, the allies will need to bring bombers with Scorchers. Only Scorchers will be capable of dealing substantial damage to the Triumph solars. SNACs, Coronas, Novas, and Hellfire Rocket pods will not be effective. The atmosphere contains varying levels of drag, which will cause ships to become more sluggish as they approach the hard deck. Contact with the hard deck will result in catastrophic decompression consistent with unassisted atmospheric entry. Further instructions will be given on site by staff members during the event. The Dax & MacDuff will be positioned to serve as bases for easy access to atmospheric entry points. There are no plans to add additional IDs to either side during this event. RE: [Official Event] Pyres of Remembrance - Kopesh - 08-13-2019 May Bretonia fall. RE: [Official Event] Pyres of Remembrance - Jayenbee - 08-13-2019 And may she fall well. RE: [Official Event] Pyres of Remembrance - Thunderer - 08-13-2019 @Yaoquizque Drags are gay. And nice touch with the McDuff and the Dax. The McDuff was the Dunkirk that was defending Planet Harris, but then retreated to Newcastle. Its crew is poised to compensate for their retreat with additional fierceness and zeal. The Dax is the newest Valor in Gallia's disposal, and also the one that conquered Planet Harris. This is not only about New London, this is personal. RE: [Official Event] Pyres of Remembrance - Yeggito - 08-13-2019 Variable air resistance? Sounds like an awesome feat! RE: [Official Event] Pyres of Remembrance - ~Chio - 08-13-2019 Now that's what I call a fine job. I wish devs were paid for the work that was done, supersonic speed. Hope both sides will have a lot of fun >:D RE: [Official Event] Pyres of Remembrance - DarkTails - 08-13-2019 The answer is simple. We crush all enemies. Gallia will suffer for their impudence, they thrust forward with no retreat plan! They shall fall, surrounded and ensnared in the Allied war machine.
