Greetings to all recieving this transmission,
I know everyone is busy with battle near New London most likely, but I just wanted to send out a general communiqué regarding the situation in Leeds.
With the warning recieved about the possibility of orbital bombardment, there's been a general breakdown of order and a spread of panic among the civilian population. Things have gotten pretty bad here now. It seems though that most people are heeding warnings to head underground, and many are evacuating, but it is a slow process.
In coming back and forth from the Resistance Base landing area, we pass by Royal Navy vessels quite often. But as you know these destroyers seem deployed to low altitude for ground strikes. The thing is we've noticed they seem under orders not to engage passing ships, and have ignored passing traffic. I had a recon vessel up close to one in stealth, and then came back again in my freighter to get a close look while I could. I hung around a minute or two at close range but a battlecruiser appeared to drive me off. However I got some pics of the ships, including what seems to be its main weapon mounted in the belly of the ship. I'm no engineer, but maybe someone else can make sense of them and see if it helps our chances of countering this threat. It might be worth sending someone out yourselves to take more detailed scans. If there's anything more I can do, please let me know.
