Change to Bounty Hunting Rules - St.Denis - 08-26-2019

Find below a change/clarification of Bounty Hunting & Freelancer Hire Rule 2:

Old Wrote:2. All faction IDs are allowed to claim bounties within their zone of influence. Generic IDs are only allowed to claim bounties if clearly specified in the ID description.

New Wrote:2. All faction IDs are allowed to claim bounties within their zone of influence. Generic IDs are only allowed to claim bounties if clearly specified in the ID description. Generic IDs that do not allow claiming bounties may not be hired or registered as Bounty Hunters.

RE: Change to Bounty Hunting Rules - SnakThree - 08-26-2019

Silly little change that changes nothing.

Better decide if factions are allowed to claim bounties when kills happen outside their ZOI as there is additional issue of "not hunting, just happened" type of excuse when it happens.

My suggestion, do not allow it for the sake of ease of rules and approach to them.

RE: Change to Bounty Hunting Rules - Durandal - 08-26-2019

It changes nothing for us vets, Snak. It changes a lot for newer players who aren't intimately familiar with the rules being hired by faction leaders regardless of their ID.

RE: Change to Bounty Hunting Rules - SnakThree - 08-26-2019

First of all, only Disco wiki has list of what Generic IDs are.

Second of all:
Quote:4. Mercenaries, freelancers and bounty hunters may be hired on the spot in game by non-generic IDed players to assist with a combat without a forum post. The other parties involved in the combat must be made aware of this.

This rule clearly states who can be hired and that is people with BHG and Freelancer IDs. Miner and Pirate IDs are not on the list.

Then we have:
Quote:2. All faction IDs are allowed to claim bounties within their zone of influence. Generic IDs are only allowed to claim bounties if clearly specified in the ID description.

Rule that clearly said that you need specific line to be able to claim bounties while using Generic IDs.

What you forgot is:
Quote:9. The character registered on a board must be at least neutral to their employer, and hostile to the faction they are targeting in a bounty. This does not apply to assassination missions where the target is a single character. Board owners are obliged to ensure that the persons they are hiring have a suitable reputation. This means no hiring or paying people who would be hostile to you based on previous actions or non-hostile with the targets they claim.

This rule has no "Board owners are obliged to only register people who can hunt bounties by reputation and ID rules"

So all in all, it seems like duplicating of existing rule just in other words while not actually taking care of issues that lack any definition one way or the other.

RE: Change to Bounty Hunting Rules - Daniel 'Dani' Freeman - 08-26-2019

:C
Hunting still remains the most profitable and fun job in Sirius.
EDIT: I do however agree with Snek he's right. Some rules should be changed to better. 1+

RE: Change to Bounty Hunting Rules - Thexare - 08-26-2019

I'm not clear on why Pirate and Miner IDs can't claim bounties to begin with, and by extension why Miner isn't rolled in with Freelancer and Pirate (having those two seperate does make sense at least).

RE: Change to Bounty Hunting Rules - Lythrilux - 08-26-2019

What about for IDs that have Sirius Wide enactment lines, like "can kill x anywhere". Can they no longer claim bounties on those targets outside their zoi now?

How about:

2. Only generic IDs which specify that they can claim bounties, as well as all faction IDs within their zone of influence, are allowed to claim bounties, be hired, or register on bounty boards.

I like the current Freelancer ID. And current bounty hunting rules aren't too bad either.
