789 A.S Liberties and Bretonia's cooperation was always kept on high standards. Not only that citizens of both houses would enjoy free passage through space both house Militaries would exchange pilots and vessels in training sessions to gain trust and experience. To maintain safe travel through, Cortez and Magellan, both the Queen and the President of Liberty created a special division in cooperation between the Liberty Security Forces and Bretonian Armed Forces, a unit where both houses would operate for one goal. Operated by the best pilots from both branches to maintain a successful operation within the borders of Liberty and Bretonia and beyond. Such an organization needed an operational base, maintaining a high combat-readiness to intercept any illegal activities. Liberty Navy assets have been secretly moved to aid the newly founded division, the newly commissioned Liberty Dreadnought "Illinois" was tasked to be the operation harbor for all Scorpion operatives. Equipped with the newest technology available to the LSF and Liberty Navy, sneaking around the borders was easy and guaranteed an operation success. The Artifact Market in Liberty began to grow in the late '90s of the last century and the LNS-Illinois was tasked to maintain an observative position and launch its fighter and bomber wings to cut off the smugglers. Before the assassination of Admiral Schultzky, the LNS-Illinois was infiltrated and captured by unknown agents of Kanzler Niemann, all contact was lost to the Liberty Dreadnought until a few weeks later it magically reappeared as nothing ever happened. However, the crew was already infested with the nomad parasite and began their onslaught on Liberty to take over the Navy and the Liberty Security Force.

With the outbreak of the Nomad War and the Navy is fully under control by the Nomads, the Liberty Navy began its invasion of Kusari, Battleship Illinois was dispatched to guard their known playground, Cortez and Magellan to ensure that Liberty wouldn't be attacked from Bretonia, the Illinois was fully upgraded with nomad-prototype technology to fit her new task. With the newly developed technology, the men and women onboard the Illinois would surpass the expectations of their new masters and would eventually be ordered to take a position in Kepler to assist Battlecruiser Wyoming and its escorts where it played a key position in the assault of Shikoku. Contrary to all expectations the Order managed to defeat the Nomad in their home system and the Illinois and the Wyoming had to retreat from Kusari and separated, the Wyoming is still operating in Kepler but the Illinois disappeared into the deep space to prepare for a new task.

Utilizing their superior skills and hardware reformed in their image; the Scorpions have begun to conduct numerous raids within and the surrounding Liberty systems, serving as a message to the Liberty Navy and LSF - or a warning not to repeat the past. Ruthless and determined in their goals the Scorpion Division has stepped out of the shadows of Liberties underworld. Battlecruiser Wyoming, the base of the Scorpion Division, hidden deep in the heart of dark matter storm in Kepler ready to launch their raids into Liberty.

As their primary line of technology, the Scorpions are focused on Liberty Navy Ships along with the equipment available on Battlecruiser Wyoming and their Stations in Drake. Due to having access to blueprints and design details of Liberty Navy technology, the Scorpions can run and maintain their Liberty Navy gear efficiently and easily replace them if extensively damaged or even destroyed during a fight.

Having access to black market through open-minded supporters as well as unaware groups and individuals, Scorpion Division pilots are occasionally seen using ships and equipment freely available on the civilian market. These ships may be seen used by pilots wishing to avoid attracting unnecessary attention or those who've used these ships before their infestation, however, due to having a limited access to maintenance and repair materials for Civilian ships, Scorpion Division pilots mainly treat these ships as disposable alternatives to Liberty Navy technology and are not often seen utilizing such combinations.
