Among the ice. - Yazov - 09-08-2019

Pecos, Camp Lister, 7th of September, 14:00

Throughout the recent hours, Lister have been rensembling a buzzing bee hive; in the wake of the imminent arrival of Crayter troops everything that could be moved - was loaded on the transport vehicles. Crayter was not supposed to get a single bit of what the Guild had there, priority have been given to armaments and day-to-day supplies to fulfill the most basic needs of an average human. The movement in and out of the planet was still largely unrestricted, so the supply ships, along with their escorts were a frequent sight planetside and on the surface.
Among those, a lone Lhotse moved towards the surface at full speed, occupying one of three launchpads that the other vessels have steered clear of.
Those pads have been reserved for the delegation arriving to hold a discussion regarding the joint planetside operations with one goal behind them - to secure the holdings of the Guild and ultimately evict the competition from the moon of planet Salina. It was agreed between the partaking parties that Crayter have long overstayed their welcome, now making use of Guild's hospitality in the most unfavourable way.
There have still been some time before the arrival of the delegations from the invited parties - and Kyoko was used to waiting. The Guildmaster made her way to the meeting room - or, at least, what was quickly assigned and repurposed to serve as such - and made herself comfortable, expecting the arrival of the Xenos and Lane Hackers. Someone of the personnel present at the launchpads should've directed them to the place they seek.

As soon as he got through the Coronado Jump Hole, Max was glad that he'd hit the cloaking device. There were only about six Crayter Republic ships when he came through and while the Republic and the Lane Hackers had a peace treaty, he was in no mood to explain his presence to them. He had initially been intrigued when he saw the communication from the IMG about settling the future of Pecos, now he privately had reservations about their course of action. Those feeling will not impact his conduct here because he is not here for himself, he was here as a representative of the Lane Hackers.

As Max landed in Camp Lister, he could tell it was now a ghost town. He had only been there a couple of times but could tell that it was different now. The hub of activity was gone, all the building and equipment are gone, except for the one he was directed to for the meeting. As he arrived at the room he removed his hat before knocking, he was invited in and was greeted by the figure of Kirigiri Kyoko. There wasn't much else to the room and he could tell it had been rapidly been repurposed to accommodate this meeting. "Good afternoon Ms, Kyoko , I'm Max Zorin. Thank you for the invitation." He said, taking a seat opposite Kyoko.

Morreti's entourage were fashionably late, smuggled into the system aboard a Kestrel-class freighter that seemed to be squawking Kepler-based Zoner IFF codes. As such the Crayterian patrol scarcely paid them any mind, believing it to be just the run of the mill explorer trying to turn a small profit in the Independent Worlds. Not long after its entry into the system, the freighter would commit to a full burn towards Pecos' airspace, the navigation console already fed the coordinates of where Camp Lister was.

"Place is a dump.. Simply won't do." Morreti commented somewhat ironically as the cargo-ramp came down and the occupants came out, with him being the first and foremost on the ground. Upon entry into the designated meeting room, he was quite certain his presence would disgust the Lane Hacker delegation. Nonetheless he had come to this meeting dressed neatly, and gave them both a believably sincere smile after the door was opened for him. "Ah, the gang's here!" He said with a hint of humor, intent on cracking perhaps even the quite literal ice that dominated the atmosphere.

Strutting his way over to the seat that was quite literally reserved for him, considering it was the only one left out of the three present, he sat down and nodded to signal that he was ready for the proceedings to begin. All the while keeping an intent eye on his company.

About five minutes after Max had checked his watch for the third time, the Xeno Alliance representative finally arrived. Max had dealt with more than his fair share of Xenos in his time so he wasn't expecting much. The representative was put together fairly well and put on a smile that while not exactly warm, seemed sincere enough. Although he had a fairly low estimation of the Xenos, Max put that aside and decided to be cordial in the interest of getting through the meeting. "Ah, you must be the Xeno representative, I don't believe we've met before, Max Zorin." He offered his hand, hoping to signify that at he was at least willing to hear him out.

Surprisingly enough, Zorin's gesture would not go in vain and almost immediately Morreti would stretch his hand across as well. Whilst they shook hands he opted to supply Zorin with his own full name. "Damian Morreti. And no I don't believe we've met before, but it's a pleasure all the same." The words seemed genuine enough, but that was likely owed to the fact that he'd chosen a similar approach to Zorin's. Once pleasantries had been exchanged Morreti turned towards Kyoko, wondering if she would say anything to mark the beginning of these talks.

Pecos, Camp Lister, 7th of September, 16:00

"Welcome, gentlemen. It is a pleasure to see you both making it on time and without much disturbances. The state of affairs in the high orbit is... turbulent, at best. However, given the unique circumstances of our meeting..." Kyoko took a few steps forward as the invited guests finished the introductions, and in course have offered her hand to both people present. "... we are, likely, the last people to stay in Camp Lister after the column departure. So we are unlikely limited in time, and i offer you to, at least, take a seat before we get to the point." The Guildmaster have gestured at the nearby table, decorated with assorted alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage, simple yet expected to cover the preferences of both guests.
"Mr. Zorin, Mr. Morreti - take your seats. As i said - we are in no way in a rush."

RE: Among the ice. - Max_Zorin - 09-10-2019

Zorin smiled warmly at Kyofo as she finished the introductions and offered he and Morreti a drink. He walked over and perused the table to see if there was anything worth his notice. Towards the back of the table there was a dusty old bottle of Shillelagh Whiskey, he picked it up and unscrewed the lid, grabbing a normal sized whiskey glass. As he poured he said, to really no one in particular, "It's criminally underrated but Shillelagh Whiskey is some of the best in Sirius. Their secret is that when the distillery opened, they purchased a bunch of old gas canisters from the Battleship Hood. They store the whiskey in there after distillation and the chemical makeup left in the canister gives the whiskey this subtle, smokey taste which is truly unique." After pouring himself a couple of fingers he started walking back towards the main table, "I apologize I'm afraid you caught me waxing lyrical about my love of whiskey," he sat back down and took a sip, the whiskey slightly burned the back of his throat going down but was exceptionally good, "Shall we begin?"

Morreti was many things, predictable wasn't one of them. His choice of drink? Water. The packaged variety. It almost seemed humorous when contrasted with the selection of beverages available, but perhaps the man truly cared for his hydration despite the frigid temperatures or he was making a point that the luxuries presented to him were worthless. "By all means." He said in response to Zorin's query, supporting that the only course of action left was business. In Morreti's eyes it was critical for there to be a decisive and swift response by the assembled parties. Though Kyoko assured them that there was no rush, he had to disagree entirely albeit silently. Idle hands beckon only swift amputation.
