"Salutations to all, this is Administrator Sun Koken with a interesting proposition. As Zoners, we must be heard in the Edge and perhaps beyond the edge itself. Therefore, I call for a Zoner Union of Independents, or a Zoner cooperative. This cooperative, would be a loose unofficialy governing body of Zoners who wish to be members of it. There will be no main leader, instead we shall all vote to form a opinion on how to proceed in tense situations with non-zoner governing bodies.

The Principles of this Union shall be simple, effective and provide more security:

1. Voluntary and open membership for Zoners
2. Democratic member control
3. Autonomy and independence
4. Concern for Zoner community
5. Voluntary economic participation by members

These principles are about the self-help, self-responsibility, democracy, equality, equity, and solidarity amongst Zoners. I believe they represent the core values of being a Zoner: Honesty, openness, social responsibility, security, independence and free trade. There is a story from my childhood, of unity with arrows. One arrow is easy to snap, but arrows banded together are stronger. That is what I hope to achieve, so that Zoners are stronger together."

Melissa looks pleasantly surprised by the sudden communication from Sun and she smiles, bowing her head respectfully as she speaks in a friendly tone.

"While I see this as some form of rebuild of the consensus and for some form of overall diplomatic body of the 'Zoner' population, it's probably best for me to stay clear of this. I will happily have a representative which would be folly not to do so. However, as I want to focus my organisation on it's efforts against the Nomads, in the fortification of Freeport 11 as well as our recent ventures into more scientific fields, there won't be much involvement from us.

We're going to be undergoing a few minor changes on our end that should help facilitate certain prospects that you're looking to achieve, so we will be on board with assistance, but if we don't have active participation, it's not for any ill will, just because our efforts are elsewhere.

All in all, Sun, I like the proposals, and thank you for letting my team know. We'll let you know when we have someone who can be at the chair as our representative."

Miss Koken.

As i am inclined to believe we did not have the pleasure of meeting yet - i will introduce myself: my name is Stella Hoshii, i am the current administrator of Corinth Research Station. And i am afraid my opinion on this matter coincides with what miss Jones have already voiced: with the current focus of Velvet as self-defense paramilitary and considering the slowly increasing distance from the rest of the Zoner community there will not be much for us to be involved with.

However, Velvet was, and will always be a Zoner organisation by origin, and that fact alone deserves to be honored. Seeing as you, miss Koken, desire to see Velvet's presence and hear our voice in the Union - i would gladly take the seat of Velvet representative in the forming organisation - should miss Jones find it acceptable, of course.

Greetings,

I am Nicole Malakai, recently appointed administrator of Freeport 10, former administrator of 5. I can't really help myself but this reminds me of "old" Confederation of Freeports. There were differences, two leaders who led CoF to certain death and it wasn't really working well. And I also have my doubts about this one.

Our community as we call it is just way too different, based on locations, cultures, locals and I could continue with more of these. We are different people with different needs and opinions, Miss Koken. Also I believe relations and alliances between administrators should be established as I can see more to come up from this. We are just too spread around Sirius so we cannot have a clear opinion. I can't really have a say and clear opinion on Delta or Omega 3 Zoners, just because of stuff above. I would just establish a secure communication channel primarily between administrators and possibly other Zoners, just in case there was something we would need opinion of others. Docking access and its restrictions for example.

As for Administrator Malakai I actually agree, we are different but I believe that our difference in culture, opinions and need are what makes us Zoners. I am a Buddhist, I am a pacifist and I know that is different to other Freeport administrators but I believe in my heart, our voice needs to be heard. Administrator,

Your heart is in the right place but I have to agree with Miss Jones. I see this as an attempt to rebuild the Consensus or even the old Council of Zoners or worse, the old Zoner Defense Force. I chaired that old council and it never went well. Those on the outside looking in like the Corsairs, Core, the Order, Houses and so forth see it as Zoners not being independent and they themselves becoming a sort of house. True, we have a lot of common problems and interests but we also have a lot of different issues based on where we live and who our neighbors are.
For example, the problems around Freeports Six and Ten are very different and quite unique as compared to those around Freeport Five or Eleven and require different solutions.

All that said, we could have a meeting if for no other reason to air some things out. We still can keep trade among us and have our own economy but a sort of council? I am wary of this.

I don't get to chat with other administrators very often as the Taus are a long way out from other Zoner bases.
Doc is right, it's a very different set of problems out here. Miss Malakai of Freeport 10 and I share more common issues than we do with most of you. For us, the Gallic war is still going on. Still, I wouldn't mind talking economy if nothing else. I run a low budget, low key operation out here and we have relative quiet for the moment.

Miss Malakai, you and I need to meet. I fly patrols as far as Freeport 10 and know you've been having some issues up there. If we start working a bit more closely, perhaps we can rectify some of this? Let me know and I'll fly north.
