Now that the brave men and women of Her Majesty's Armed Forces have finally given those Gallic bellends the boot, it occurs to me that you're about to have a lot of extra weapons and equipment sitting around, collecting dust for lack of any other use. As you're well aware, we here in Planetform have got ourselves a bit of a terrorism problem. Earlier today, we had a large raid by a combined Gaian/Unioner force, which was well armed and equipped, and managed to do a fair bit of damage before we finally sent them packing. The way I see it, we've both got a problem the other can help with. Planetform Security would like to take some of that extra equipment off your hands. We're particularly interested in fighters and bombers, though we wouldn't mind acquiring a few of your older Churchill-class Gunboats that are due to be paid off anyway. You get the credits you need to help rebuild the BAF, and Planetform gets military-grade hardware to protect our personnel and equipment against those with no respect for human life. What do you say? Shall we talk details? Lt. Cdr. John Walker Director of Security Operations, Planetform, Inc. Creating Worlds
RE: To: BAF | From: PF Security | Re: Military Surplus - Capt. Henry Morgan - 12-30-2019 Planetform, Inc. From: John Walker Location: Birmingham Station, Manchester To: BAF Admiralty Board Subject: Military Surplus Good evening, gentlemen,
I understand you've been busy lately, what with finding a new war and all. Between that and Christmas, I can understand how matters can be forgotten. So, I'm calling to ask for an update about our inquiry. With the new war with the Coalition, I know you'll be putting some of your stocks to good use, but the Coalition is no Gallia, and I'm thinking you should still have plenty to spare for your friends at Planetform, if you're willing to share. RE: To: BAF | From: PF Security | Re: Military Surplus - Thunderer - 01-06-2020 Captain William Briggson here, Secretary to the Board. So, let's see about your request... Bellends, terrorists, cannibals... No, no cannibals, you didn't mention those. Right? Never mind. There's cannibals floating around in space too, if you didn't know. And you want gunboats with thick armour to defend yourselves from their teeth. A donation in return? Donations are good. I think. That's what the Admiralty told me they were. Sorry, I am not entirely myself right now, there has been a shortage of medication lately. Millions suddenly went crazy after the bombardment of London and the glassing of Leeds. Right, where were we? Oh, donations and gunboats! The Admiralty told me to tell you that our fleet was... (Briggson fumbles about the disorderly heap of papers around him, as if looking for something) ...Never mind, I can't remember what politically correct term they used, but there isn't much room left for political correctness after a genocide of five billion, no? Bonkered. Our fleet is bonkered. I don't know if that's an actual word, but it bloody well does get the point across. It appears that we've already given most of our unenviable surplus to some blokes called the Crimean Privateers, so what we'll be handing you is the sludge of the sludge. We've got two Churchills for you: the HMS Sirius from the Harlow Fleet and the HMS Pansy from the McDuff fleet. The Sirius has somehow survived 204 years of service and she has been protecting Fort Winchester since its construction, but some BMM experts have expressed a worry that her generator could melt down or explode any time, which would, well, not be very protective towards the station. The Pansy is technically part of the McDuff fleet now, but she was in the Norfolk's, until she was damaged beyond hope in the Battle of Aland. Well, beyond reasonable hope at least. Doesn't really look like a Churchill any more, but she runs! Oh, she does run, all your crew will have to wear earmuffs because she runs so wildly! But, the Admiralty says it would be disgraceful for the BAF to display such a Frankenstein of a ship, so here, have it. Well then, I suppose we're due to receive a donation? Depending on its amount, we might be able to transfer you some ships that actually work properly. I'll send you our account address in a text message later. Until then, cheerio! Secretary to the Board Bretonian Armed Forces RE: To: BAF | From: PF Security | Re: Military Surplus - Capt. Henry Morgan - 01-14-2020 Planetform, Inc. From: John Walker Location: Resort District, Planet Anaheim, California To: Captain William Briggson Subject: Military Surplus Good morning, Captain! This message found me while I was taking a bit of a well-deserved holiday here at one of Anaheim's better ski resorts, so I'll be keeping this brief. If you'll check your accounts, I do believe you'll find a generous donation, courtesy of our Board of Directors. The two ships you've got on offer should suit our needs nicely, after a bit of work. In my original inquiry, I also mentioned fighters and bombers, any word on those?
Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got a bottle of fine champagne, a hot tub, and a couple of very attractive young women in my near future. God, I love working in the private sector... Lieutenant Commander (Ret.) John Walker Director of Security Operations, Planetform, Inc. Creating Worlds
RE: To: BAF | From: PF Security | Re: Military Surplus - Thunderer - 01-14-2020 Gah... I hoped you would have forgotten about the snubcraft after we gave you the gunboats. But alright. If you care so much about them, you deserve them. Persistence is a virtue, I was told. Go to Planet Sprague and request ten of whatever BMM snubcraft you like. Those are new models, fresh from the modern factories across the fledgeling world. But they will cost you. Your donation has covered the costs of building two new gunboats, but not a light wing as well. For these ten... Let's say further 20 million, alright? |
