I've heard that it is possible, with a lot of effort, and you won't be able to play online. Unseelie worked it out (except for the multiplayer part), if she's still lurking around the boards.

FL runs under ubuntu.
FLMM runs also great under ubuntu,however multiplayer is not yet supported.

I've tried to install it on Ubuntu 8.10 without luck. I've tried everything I could imagine. Then I finally gave up and set up a small WinXP partition for FL.

It is possible, but it lags because WINE's DirectPlay has bugs.

Dual boot with Windows XP/Vista. The cube lets you have 4 going.

i run Freelancer fine on Vista, Vista is just too slow to do anything else
its like going back to the past, when computers could do 1 thing at a time
