Have a good night! - Zyliath - 12-18-2019

Michel, along with Selim, was accompanied inside the base and given a room each in the Barracks section of the HQ in order to rest a bit, which was definetly needed after the latest days. Alas, little did de Grasse knew that his rest didn't last that long...

In the middle of the night, someone knocked on his room's door softly. Given the overall silence in the building, Michel heard it somewhat clearly. As he raised from his bed and opened the door, a pair of Bretonian marines stood tall in front of him, asking of him specifically to go with them, without specifying the direct reason.
Kind of an odd request, in the middle of the night even more so. Yet, the Bretonians aided them, and he didn't want to cause trouble already, so he accepted to go with them.

However, he asked the marines to wait a moment outside in order to change into decent clothes. A quick change later, and de Grasse left his room, closing the room behind himself, then following the marines in the darkness of the night. While on the way, he felt to be headed somewhere underground as the darkness became more and more pitch-dark, so much that one of his 'escorts' pulled out a light source to proceed further on for a while. In the end, they arrived in front of a steel door, with the number 'B66' on a plaque beside it.

The marines asked Michel to enter the room, as the two took posts on both sides of the door. As he entered, he saw an Armed Forces officer, and a young one nonetheless, seemingly waiting for him already. She looked slim, with hair which could look as if they were painted, her intense eyes were squaring him top-to-bottom, as well as being visibly pregnant too.

After he gave her a look, he stretched a bit before speaking.

"Hmm...I remember you, mademoiselle - you were with us back there, weren't you? Now, since you dragged me all the way here in the middle of the night, I suppose you require something from me, n'est-ce pas? So, go ahead and ask me whatever you need to know, and I'll try to answer at the best I can."

Pria looked at the man from top to bottom, she was slightly surprised, that he had some time to change into a decent set of clothes. De Grasse being gallic in origin meant nothing to her, It wasn't in her nature to judge people by their birthplace.

"Sorry for the late night calling, but that increasingly annoying thorn in my side called Captain Hall, made a few wignuts breathin' down on my throat" She motioned him to take a seat, her accent and gestures stated it pretty well she lived most of her life in space, far away from the bretonian customs, like upper-class entitlement. "Well, it's kind of important to me too, to clean up a few details, if you could help me"

Noticing the gesture, Michel took one of the available seats. He couldn't help but notice a somewhat familiar glint in her eyes, something he kind of reminded him something...something he saw long ago, back with the Conseillards.

"Very well then, mademoiselle. If miss Hall herself asked you to speak with me, it has to be something important indeed. Let's start without further ado, shall we?" - de Grasse said, as soon as he sat.

"Very well" Pria's shoulders barely noticably dropped a bit "Let's start with something simple. Could you tell me more about the current internal politics of the Coalition? Just assume I don't have any information, I haven't been there for years, and I've only seen Jiangxi back then" Pria was pretty casual about the fact she set foot on the planet, or at least that she seemingly was

MIchel wasn't really surprised by that question - he was the former de-facto foreign minister, after all. Laying down in his chair a bit, he began his speech.

"It's a very complex question, so I'll start with the current layout, unless it has changed in the meanwhile. The leading figure is the Premier, which oversees internal issues and all sorts of requests, from Visas to asset requisition, as well as diplomacy. Just below him is the head of the Militsya, the Field Marshal - which leads the fleet to battle. Below him, as far as the High Command goes, Generals and Colonels respectively. These four compose the SCRA's main body. A side entity of the SCRA is Foreign and External issues, which are handled by the Directorate of the Externality and its Agents. I think this should be enough about the overall ranking structure."

After a moment of respite, he resumed.

"However, with former Field Marshal Keller's coup, the leading figure switched onto the Field Marshal. However, as things are currently chaotic in the Coalition after the power vacuum that was left behind by Keller's resignation, I have no idea how things will change. But I digress...As for who is more likely to take over, there is but a mostly certain choice: a man called Ivan Petrov, formerly - just like myself - a Commissar. He detached himself from the old Commissariat - that's how the Directorate of the Extarnality was known before the coup - and formed the Council of Commissars. He's the one likely to take over. I think this satisfies you?"

He couldn't help, though, but observe the young officer's eyes once more, noticing a familiar glint...something he had as well: the glint of a revolutionary.

"Hmm...I can see in your eye that taking orders from someone like Hall isn't really your thing, am I right? You and I, somewhat, have something in common deep within: the burning fires of the revolution. And trust me from my own experience and past if I tell you this. Say, what was your name again?"

She smirked a bit on his point"Well, I have both personal and professional differences with the "pet", but that's for another time. By the name is Pria. Captain Y'berg, if you'd decide to be formal"

She made a mental note about de Grasse's answer, before going on to his last sentence "What do you mean by that?"

Pria Y'berg...now he remembered where he heard of her: he was one of the escort pilots that came with Hall to extract him and Selim from Omega-3. Looking again at Pria, Michel spoke again.

"Simple: when I saw you pass by us back at the entrance, I saw a strange light in your eyes. It was something I saw long ago, back in the days of my service in the Council Secondary Fleet, during the fights in Languedoc as well as the final stand for La Reunion, now known as Cordes Outpost - located just outside the minefield which heads inside Gallia, the very one the Council opened. You, being on the ground...I can see it's not your place. You like to fly among the stars, with no one ordering you around - am I correct?"

Before she answered, however, he added something else.

"You remember me of several pilots and agents I led during my period in the SCRA. All of those had the same glint of yours: the will to pursue a greater goal for the People they swore to protect, or at least theirs was. But yours - what is your true goal, Pria?"

RE: Have a good night! - Y'berg - 12-20-2019

Pria laid back, bombing him with a piercing look"Don't try to romanticize it. Life in space is hard, gritty, and unforgiving. I'm quite content about drenchin' to the bone in free rain, or breathing atmospehere that cannot escape my lungs at any moment. Pretty good at followin' orders too, it's more the matter of who tries to give 'em." Her voice were filled with more and more passion as she spoke, and with every word, Pria became a bit louder, until she held back.

"At the moment, my goals are pretty simple: Preventin' a bunch of ships layin' waste on my house on Canaria. Peacefully if possible, I've seen enough horror to last for a few lifetimes" Her last sentence was quiet, meaning it more for herself, than to de Grasse. She leaned forward, and with a look that could only been witnessed on people who marched thorough hell, began to speak again "Make no mistake, if shots start to fly around, it will be save the tribe, damn everyone else. So we'd best do everything to prevent it"

"Now, now, hold your horses right there. I do agree with you about life in space being gritty and ruthless, but life on the ground can be like that as well - and I saw it firsthand myself. As for who gives the orders, heh...can't say anything since I did call some when needed." - de Grasse said, his tone riled up from Pria's answer, which took him aback a little.

"As I stated before, my own experience as a Conseillard speaks for myself when it comes to protecting your home - I did the same, so I know what it means. I saw things your mind cannot even conceive, so I have my own share of horrors as well to burden, but I am digressing here. Back to us, though - mark my words: I know for sure Petrov and his 'cabal' will definetly not ratify the Accords, so the 'peaceful' part is out of the equation, and both Selim and myself are not going to sit idly by, not by an inch." - the Gaul ended his speech, not before eyeing Pria one last time.

"Now, unless you hae anything else to ask me, I'd better be back to my room before people start to worry about my absence - right?"

RE: Have a good night! - Y'berg - 12-22-2019

"Just one more thing. What kind of forces would we look at, if it comes to war? I'm interested in numbers, mostly."
