Hello everyone! - Cookies - 12-22-2019

Hi, my nickname is Cookies. It is the nickname you see in game like "Cookies" "Cookies1" "Cookies2" "Cookies3" "Cookies4" "Cookies5" and "Cookies6" and in the future the nicknames is same equals with one number. I am new at this discovery freelancer mod. I am trying to understand rules for RP server. My acknowledge about this mod is many many small, I mean if I do something wrong, you can explain me first before get angry or flame me first. My native language is portuguese from portugal.I am 29 years old. I can speak a little English but is not so good to speak very well and fluent, but was I can say it can be worse.

In game I like more trading or mining before PVP (player vs player). PVP is some boring to me. In other words, When I play a clan/group of real players based on pvp, the leader training me to be better pvp fighter and one day I can defeat them, and I do, but it is for other server of freelancer I play in the past time.

I finnish many times vanilla freelancer, and at this time next to the history missions on singleplayer I like to stay on omicron alpha-planet malta was my home base. Because I can go kill nomads fast and search for blaster and cannon weapons to equip my eagle. Normal time I like to be outcasts rep and kill bounty hunters npcs in this times. In the vanilla I like to be sometimes outcats or corsairs, but in this discovery freelancer I like to test new things and represent others factions was I don't do in the past. For example stay by the nomads side and see how this side work and the ship nomads use, is a little dream of me if possible off course.

So to finished, I am open to clan/group of real players proposes.

See you in the space.

Hello and welcome to the wonderful world of Discovery Freelancer! Don't let initial complexity and the number of sections and threads here to scare you - you will understand everything with a time!

About RP-part - it's not that hard, as it might seem, but it's definitely something you are going to like and get involved in with a time. Sadly I couldn't find any good tutorial on roleplay on Discovery, so I might explain it in a couple of sentences for you. Any roleplay suggests, that you are playing the role of your character, a separate person with their own advantages, disadvantages, habits and different personality in general. In other words, here, in Discovery, you can feel yourself in the role of the commander of a warship with a lot of war scars or you can go and play a simple man, working on Deep Space Engineering, who doesn't care about politics and just want to earn for living. In other words, your character isn't you. Keep that in mind!

Therefore, usually you won't see characters named Pro-Killer-RUS-60 or something like this, but rather you will meet separate characters with their own names - Jorge Adams, Karen Smith, LNS-Mightful (Liberty Navy Ship, a specific prefix for Liberty navy capital vessels, like USS if making parallel to real world alternatives)

Yes, it might take a lot of time and power to develop characters or initially even to come up with a suitable character, but in my humble opinion the enjoyment you can get from it will worth it at the end.

So yeah, you can go and make yourself a nomad character and make your dream come true! But keep in mind, that Discovery is a roleplay server, which might in some sense resemble a real world. You can't be friends with everyone, helping one group will make another group hate you.

That should be all for Roleplay part. If you have additional questions, try to find the answer in rules or simply ask, as there is never going to be any dumb questions and community tries to be as helpful as possible in my humble opinion.
As for the groups - try to check Official factions section or Unofficial faction sections. Each faction has it's own recruitment forms and protocols, but it never was a really hard thing to come up with. Usually it's just describing in a short way the story of your character. Might take some time, but at the end the most of factions (if not all) abandoned any concept of elitism and they are actually looking for new players in their ranks with taking obligation of teaching them the basics, training them in PvP or asking any questions you might have. The most of established factions have so-called veteran players with a solid background of playing here - those people will become mentors for you and they will definitely help you in any way possible.

Before I finish this a bit too large message - I want to give you the last hint. Install Discord! This is a very useful application and the most of factions use this to communicate with members. Do it and be sure to jump in this Discord server. This is the main hub of Discovery, where you can get all help you would need and get answers on any questions you might want to ask.

This should be all for now. Looking forward to see you in game, pilot!

I also advice to read tutorial made by @"Sombra Hookier" about extended roleplay and how to avoid unpleasant situations.

Best of luck to you in dangerous space.
