Honshu System,Kusari Space

Dear Directors Board,

Today, Wednesday April 1st at around 18:00 SMT I was contacted by the Liberty Navy regarding a Nomad invasion into the New York system. Coming from Kansas through Pennsylvania I managed to get past by the threat and on returning I was awaited by DSE)LVT-3.Bushmaster who not only escorted me past some of the unfriendlies but also stayed right by my side for the returning trip.

I understand that our security vessels often have different captains and I did not get the name of the captain whom, together with the crew, so selfishly cared for the wellbeing of me and my crew, yet I hereby ask the board to give the pilot of this vessel an honorary award and commendation. Because of this captains selfless act of escorting me through various possibly dangerous situations I managed to get the much needed good delivered to our engineers in the field.

Sincerely,

I got the message from Lu, she's a pretty nice Lady if I do say so 'maself. Alright, I confess. I was flyin' the ol' Bushmaster today. I heard of a threat of them ol' Purple gummy worms, and went to go check 'em out. I got The ol' Condor down the lane to Ft. Bush and holy mackerel there was like a million of them purple squiggly bastards! It was then I realized there was a fellow DSE vessel inbound to New York, so I sprung into action to make sure we could get 'er home safe.

Met 'er at the ol' Colorado hole, cuz them purple worms were right there by Ft. Bush, toyin' with the Navy fellers. We proceeded 'round the back of Manhatten through the field to avoid any hostilities. Happy ta say, we made 'er all the way to Pitsburg, unscathed. I dun did wait for this fine young lady to return from where was it....Kansas? Yeah that was it. Took 'er back to the Kepler system before I realized the ol' Condor had a small reactor leak in the engines, so I hightailed it back after making sure the young lady was safe to move on. I think she followed some sort of Liner to Hon...Honashau? yeah, that was it.

On a side note, seein' as the Condor may be down for a few days to a week 'er two. I dun filed a request with the Bosses in the Navy for a shiney new Defiant they dun use. I'll letcha know how that turns out.

Now how the hell do I turn this recording off?

At approximately 01:20 SMT, Globemaster was engaged in observation operations when we came across a recently-dropped lane in Stuttgart near Freiburg Station. Hostile ships were located on scanner about 7-8 clicks away, but the lane hadn't reinitialized. Location scans are attached and unit numbers provided under secured cover.

Serials were confirmed and diagnostics run from Globemaster remotely, and system status reported nothing out of line. We approached the nearest active lane unit to force the segment to cycle, but it was unsuccessful. Approximately 15 minutes after the cycling attempt, re-initialization occurred. Repeated diagnostics suggests Node EB-4 should get a closer look, and minor char was observed on the exterior plating likely from the forced overload. I'll have a crew out to replace the superconductor pack on Node EB-4 as a precaution.

Sincerely,

Alright, here goes report two.

The trip started normal enough, we met up at Chesterfield before leaving on our trip. The first stop was Nottingham, we passed through Liberty with an escort from =LSF=Mayport. Upon reaching the Manchester gate in Cortez we parted ways and I took point from this point on (which made me super uncomfortable admittedly). Upon arrival at Aland shipyard we were contacted by Falster Station saying they had shipments of Ore slated for Honshu with no currently scheduled haulers. After retrieving the ore from Falster, we moved through Rheinland into the Sigmas and eventually into Honshu where we delivered our ores. Looking to make our way back home we contacted the GMG and they said they had a few shipments of Helium-3 that were needed back on Pittsburgh. We took this as our ticket home and proceeded to Okinawa.

Now I should mention that starting in Nottingham I began experiencing some rather annoying engine troubles. The Maintenance Crews on Aland looked at it and said it was fine so I continued on. Getting to Honshu was entirely uneventful until the last leg of Sigma-13 when the same problems that previously were occurring. I decided since we were going to meet up with GMG anyway I would have them take a look. The diagnosis was that there was a critical failure in one of the efficiency modules which was causing the engine to overheat and thus stop working. They gave me an estimate of 30 Million credits in repairs, alternatively they could patch it up and recommend I stop at Deshima Station where APM Technicians could install a state of the art high efficiency engine that is well insured which could cost a 5th of the price. I obviously took the latter.

Otherwise the trip was overwhelmingly uneventful, Expense Report is below.

NY System
SUBJECT: Lane maintenance report
TO: Internal Comms

Liberty Space

Dear Directors Board,

Today, Friday April 3rd I was asked to dispatch the repair vessel DSE)Bolts from the Kyushu system to the New York System as the recent Nomad attack turned our Lane Quality Monitoring System (LQMS) red with mechanical problems.

Upon entering the system my tech "Bolts" was met by co-worker "Tech-1337" and the following report is from technician Bolts:

When entering the NY system at 18:38 SMT I was greeted by vessel Tech-1337 (piloted by supervisor Billy) who directed me to take care of the Norfolk and Manhattan lanes while he took care of the Pittsburgh and Colorado lanes himself.

The damage to the lane structures was severe and beyond I had ever encountered. The G2 and G4 assemblies had sustained no less than a 40% downgrade on the 4LS level and therefore we had to acquire some extra supplies from both Baltimore and Ft. Bush.

With these supplies it still took us about 52 minutes to repair all 4 lane entries. Since both my supervisor and I did repair work we cross-checked the repairs made as to comply to company standard CS-12B. It might be worthwhile to mention that while undertaking repairs we met several vessels including a slightly upset captain "James.Redcroft" flying an LSF tagged vessel. This individual was not very happy and even questioned our presence. Fortunately supervisor Billy managed to work things out.

After taking a mandatory 15 minute union break we headed off to the gates right in front of Manhattan while accompanied by the OS&C vessel Breezewood which stayed around for (as we were told) passengers whom showed a certain interest to witness the lane maintenance.
The work at the gates in Manhattan took us 30 minutes and we believe this has all to do with the excellent protection grid around the planet and the gates therefore limiting any damage to the lane gates.

Our last task were the lanes surrounding West Point Military Academy where both my supervisor and I were interrupted by the presence of certain unfriendly characters and when the naval forces showed up almost instantly we were questioned about our presence before they took off to pursue the threats.

Both my supervisor and I signed off at 20:11 SMT and both docked at Chesterfield Station. The material expense report has been filed through the regular quartermasters channel.

Suffice to say we repaired extensive damage to the lane gates and also encountered government officials whom, despite our systemwide announcements, were not at all times grateful for the work we were undertaking. We suggest a better line of communication with the authorities as to ensure DSE can keep up the work maintaining working trade lanes and jumpgates.

Signing off with acceptance of supervisor Billy Elliots,

Technician #69, Bob Kelso

On behalf of my technician,

Sincerely,

Today the DSE)C-64.Norseman and I departed to Gallia with a load of Premium Scrap. I took this as a good first long-distance flight to test out my new acquisition from the Liberty Government. The flight out of Liberty space was fairly uneventful as we had only met other traders, some zoners and an Orbital Spa and Cruise vessel. Even through Kusari, it was relatively uneventful.

We were almost to Lorraine when suddenly we had a red pip on the scanner. An individual named "Himbeergeist" identifying as a member of the Hackers. We were prepping to jump through the Tau-53 to Lorraine jump gate, and this individual was there waiting. The Norseman proceeded to jump, and the Hacker jumped after it, cutting off my jump sequence. When i entered Lorraine, the Norseman was at the trade lane, being held up by this individual. He started to threaten us, and I kindly suggested he go back to where he came from, as he was very out of place. I placed my ship between him, and the Norseman which also blocked access to the trade lanes. Once they activated, I advised the Norseman jump and make their way to the destination, I would keep the pirate at pay.

We successfully moved to the next weigh point, and the Hacker continued to follow, being shot at by the locale already in place. After some more empty threats, the Hacker buggered off, realizing he could not win the fight. After a small union break whilst sitting at Roanne, we continued back toward Planet Erie. Once we re-entered New Tokyo, we came across an Orbital Spa and Cruise vessel, that was heading toward Hamburg through Liberty. We advised the vessel would be permitted to follow us, but it seemed to stop and have a chat with a Naval Officer near Tokyo, so we went about our own business.

It was quiet till we got to Colorado when we learned about a large Lane Hacker raid in New York, and we where advised to take shelter as the Navy has not yet been able to get a handle on the situation. We instead took the Colorado to New York jump hole and proceeded to Manhatten. Once we got close, we came across the Navy fleet prepping to locate the Hacker incursion, and they moved out toward Ft. Bush.

At this point, I jumped ahead to West point, and then the Pennsylvania gate respectively. The lanes where clear, so I advised the Norseman to take the lane. We successfully made it without any issues. We then proceeded to take a second, but shorter union break. We headed to Kansas after to acquire some Copper Ore to take to Honshu. As we navigated the field to the Kansas jump hole, we noticed we where being followed by a small transport. We attempted to encourage the pilot to follow us if he wanted to make some credits, but we lost communications with him once we got to Kansas. We proceeded with caution again through New York, away from the threats.

Again Kusari was relatively quiet. We had made it to Honshu safety. On our return trip back, we came across a 3rd party DSE contractor in a small transport, that continued to cut us off as we made our way back to New York. We figured we would let Corporate know, that if we hire these 3rd party contractors, that they would be told to show us a little more respect! When we reached the end of Kepler, this pilot then came running back toward us because a hostile showed up on Radar. This "hostile" just happened to be a Zoner, and we cleared our way to Colorado, with both the 3rd party contractor and Zoner in tow.

We again took the jump hole to be safe, and made it to Erie, and back to Chesterfield, where Mrs. Doe bought us a round for our long days worth of work. Overall profits where made, and the first long flight of the DSE)M16.Hellcat was succesful.

This evenin', Globemaster was wokin' a standard scrap supply shift to Aland when we got ourselves picked out by a member of the Red Hessians in Hamburg. Conversation was pretty short, it looked like some reinforcements were comin' in range of the lane pretty hot, but I got it logged here for a listen. Fellow stuffed a pretty disturbin' number of folks in his fighter and left several others out in space, a few police officers and a bounty hunter. Gave him a bit of cash and some scrap to hand the folks over so we could get 'em checked out on board before lettin' 'em off at Dortmund with an old friend. I'm sure they'll get where they need to be.

Didn't have enough time to run a diagnostic on the lane, but I got the sector marked for a follow-up.

Sincerely,

Recently, on a run of Aluminum Ore from Munich to Nottingham, I was pirated by 2 Corsairs. I was slightly confused since Corsairs usually don't go this far into the sector. They unrightfully took 6 million credits (about an hour of my cargo run round trip). I would 1) like to be recompensated for my time and 2) recommend a search on why and how these Corsairs are coming here.

I've been running some mundane but profitable runs from [REDACTED] to [REDACTED], and I've met some slightly interesting characters. One includes a regular Republican shipping convoy, who were very kind. Another was 2 Hessians, who taxed me (although I am not looking for a refund), were also quite nice and patient while I gave them the money. By the way, if anyone is interested, this route gives about [REDACTED] credits of profit. That is all.

This evenin' Globemaster.III set on trials with a new power plant, thought I'd take her through the paces on some salvage mats for Leduc's deconstruction in Alberta. We got sideways in the Zone-21 minefield with somethin' nobody could see, so we spooked through the gate and ended up gettin' followed. Haulin' through the corridor, we thought we lost it, but it snagged us again at Juneau. No idea, didn't get pictures and didn't care to, but I've got a record of the logs downloaded remotely. We lost the ship but didn't lose any of the boys, thank the good lord. We'll get a mothball ship out for the time being until we can work out a full salvage hull for replacement, but we're not lettin' her call-sign go to waste.
