"i am afraid to announce that all deliveries of alien samples that have been delivered in the ten thousands to the research facility of cambridge ( CRI ) will cease from that moment. - Freeport 11 support for the bretonian research in alien matters was always one of our major and flourishing trade relationships - and we were glad to have such ties of trust and profit.

since i myself come from Leeds, i always tried to uphold at least those ties. - but today, i was stopped with a shipment of Iridium in Leeds that was going to the Tau Systems ( freeport 10 ).

intercepted and questioned by the BAF like a common criminal, i was forced to turn the ship around which cost me at least a weeks worth fuel; not to mention the time.

i am saddened that a relationship of trust ends like that on the basis of over-suspicious "police-men". during the encounter, the officerrs even attempted to force me to sell the valuable iridium on leeds - for a price that can only be called a steal ( or piracy ).

so my personal tradeships will avoid bretonian space in the near future and will instead forge.... new ties to different, more grateful houses. our deuterium and iridium will most certainly find many other customers.

however, no real harm was done - and the consequences taken are just a logical step when trade relationships "dry up".

who knows - maybe in the future, bretonia will be a better market again.

E.Tate - Freeport 11.

edit: //ooc that is of course only the logical consequence... cause i was of course trying to blockade run you guys =P ... can t trust the KNF to put some pressure on the BAF to keep you busy enough.

From: Johnathan Mathews, chief-clerk to the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry
To: Ms E. Tate

Good afternoon Ms. Tate. You must understand the pressure Bretonia's Armed Forces are under and how supplying the enemy of the State, Kusari can only further the fighting and cause the deaths of yet more of our fighting men and women, not to mention the civilians depraved Kusari forces have been known to prey on.

Due to this, we cannot afford to have any shipping being moved through the Taus, save by that of nationalised companies such as Bowex or BMM, for fear of said supplies reaching enemy lines. While I am sure you are of sound character and a reputable citizen, the shipping of military grade commodities into the Tau is simply a risk we can't take.

As a citizen of Leeds, I'm sure you have the best intentions of your people at heart. However, if such commodities as Iridium did make it to the Kusari Naval Forces, you would be surprised at the ingenuity they employ in creating swarms of ship with which they would ravage Leed's undefended populace, if left to their own devices. Any Bretonian citizen who allowed such a atrocity to happen would have the blood of innocents of their hands and the crime of treason on their heads.

As for your statement on the ceasing of shipments of research material being moved to Cambridge and it's orbiting Research Station, I would pray you reconsider. The research there is that of a humanitarian nature and is being aimed at improving the lives of Citizens of Bretonia throughout our territory. And I suppose if you deem it fit to halt all shipments, there are always other lines of enquiry we could follow to have the shipment of those materials resumed.

In short the members of the Military who stopped you were simply following orders; orders that are unlikely to change while our House remains under siege.

If you have any further enquiries please forward them to the Department of Trade and Industry.

~Johnathan Mathews
