Pirating - Qunitinius~Verginix - 10-17-2006

Well I was in cambrige today and i was told that i can't pirate in ym Hugenot?

Um ok, I have been doing this for about a month now and have not recived a single complaint about it, until today, when dab pointent this out. Now i understand if im not and i will get another ship. As for what ships i CAN use. would i be allowed to use talarca for pirating? or would this be considered a cruiser still.

Hello mates, i know some people have read this judging by the 20 veiws tab, so could i ahve some clarification please?

I believe that you arer using junker ID's, wich state that they may be used to pirate, but not in cruisers or BS's. I did point this our to you in the past, when you tried to blow up my crow while i was afk. You need to look bejond the basic line, and read the whole thing.

Y'all keep forgetting gentleman's rules

you want to pirate, do it in something other than a capital class ship (yes, this includes cruisers, frigates and battleships)

I don't know about Gunboats but i'd lean to saying no to those too.

Well all the pirate ID's state that you cannot pirate in a cruiser or a BS.

Theres no mention of frigates, though anyone claiming that is a loophole and means it's allowed are *censored*.

Gunboats aren't as good as the bigger capships at dealing out masses of shield damage (unless you mount a stupid amount of tizonas on it), so I don't see why you can't use them for pirating.

They have a similar number of weapon mounts as most VHFs, they aren't as agile as VHFs, the only advantages I can see are unlimited missiles to fire and a bigger hold.

Thinking about it, a battleship isn't exactly the most practical ship to use for piracy, is it? It's more as a Show of Force for serious combat, and for protection of major areas.

Gunboats, however, are mostly for patrols. I can't see how they wouldn't be used for piracy in small groups of a gunboat and a few fighters.

Talarca is a light Cruiser, still a cruiser.

Pirating - DarkOddity - 10-17-2006

Aye the Talarca is still a cruiser. And from my short time flying one.. far too good of a cruiser to allow for pirating.

Though Some might Argue that a Battleship, or Cruiser are just Fine under the baises that , you can hold more plunder, last longer against convoy escorts, and disable a Train, or container transport faster.

I'd Love to attack Convoys with the Pearl, But alas I'm not allowed, so I shoot up NPC's........

Pirating - McNeo - 10-17-2006

Swarming with fighters is just as fun :D .

I'd love to be able to do that somtime. 3 fighters vs a convoy and us with no antimattter torps.
