Mr Secretary, DSE)-Bretonia Division will need to discuss with you about plans going forward. As work has run out for our base Old Trafford in Manchester, and Dorset Station in Poole has nearly completed all work available, we need to know what to do with these bases. Their purpose being there as bases of operations is now moot and means they are now surplus to requirement. Could you advise as to whether these are able to be deployed elsewhere and if so where? Or will Her Majesties Government want to take them over as was the original intention when the work was completed? Sincere Regards Cliff Hunter GM DSE)-Bretonian Division RE: TO: Benedict Callahan, Secretary to the Cabinet - DSE|= - 02-26-2020 BOOSTED TRANSMISSION: Broad beam modulation - Super-light speed. RE: TO: Benedict Callahan, Secretary to the Cabinet - Markam - 03-06-2020 Cliff Hunter, GM, The Bretonian Government thanks you as always for your efforts in New London and elsewhere. As mentioned when we granted you rights to the base near Southampton, the rights to scrapping are auctioned to many bidders, and we appreciate the DSE working with a wide variety of parties in the area. The Bretonian government is also considering granting rights to an unexpected party, the ALG. Despite their relatively recent hostilities towards us, it has been almost a year now, and we are prepared, in the interest of moving forward, letting bygones by bygones, especially considering our mostly good relationship with Rheinland. I hope you have the ability to work closely with them should they also be granted work like your own corporation. One other matter I wish to bring to your attention, the Bretonian Government is in desperate need of gate construction efforts to be expedited in Poole. Without the gate connection the security of the system is quite wobbly, so to speak. We are also considering a new connection to Newcastle, potentially in Manchester - convenient as you have a modular base there already - so there is a lot of work for your corporation in the future, and we wish for you to do it with the utmost urgency, for the speedy recovery of connections in Bretonia. Best regards, Benedict Callahan, Secretary to the Cabinet RE: TO: Benedict Callahan, Secretary to the Cabinet - DSE|= - 03-06-2020 DEEP SPACE ENGINEERING Old Trafford - Bretonia HQ ¤-¤-¤-¤-¤-¤-¤-¤ TRANSMISSION-outwards ¤-¤-¤-¤-¤-¤-¤-¤ SENDER: Cliff Hunter POSITION: GM DSE) Bretonian Division Secretary to the Cabinet Bretonian Government Mr Callahan, I am pleased with what you have mentioned. Old Trafford still has a significant purpose and we will continue its presence in Manchester. As we will with Dorset Station in Poole. It is good for my workers as there are no lay offs and no loss of assets. The development regarding ALG is interesting and significant. Should any advance regarding their presence in New London eventuates it may not be of benefit to us. Veltman Smelter may prove to be a suitable venue for ALG to work out of. DSE) Bretonia Division may have it's work cut out and any assist from ALG to help Bretonia in the reconstruction effort is not to be encouraged. Bad blood from past encounters. Sincere Regards Cliff Hunter GM DSE)-Bretonian Division RE: TO: Benedict Callahan, Secretary to the Cabinet - DSE|= - 06-03-2020 DEEP SPACE ENGINEERING Bretonia- HQ ¤-¤-¤-¤-¤-¤-¤-¤ TRANSMISSION-outwards ¤-¤-¤-¤-¤-¤-¤-¤ SENDER: Cliff Hunter POSITION: GM DSE) Bretonian Division Secretary to the Cabinet Bretonian Government Mr Callahan, This is an update. Work has progressed to the point we have no need of Dorset Station and it's sale is pending. My staff have been transferred to the Exeter side of the Poole/Exeter operation. The facilities attached to the gate are adequate for the time being. Old Trafford has surged ahead and has been outstanding in fixing the trade-lanes you required and have nearly completed the new trade-lane to Newcastle. The jump-gate is almost complete and we are waiting upon Ageira to install their equipment. Very Concerning: We are concerned, Mr Callahan, about the very recent events of just three to four days ago in Dublin. The carnage was dreadful. There were reports of a negligible presence of Her Majesties Armed Forces. Leaked intelligence reports also seem to indicate that the Enclave and Corsairs may be planning a strike on New London in the coming days. These are based on rumours at this point but DSE)-Bretonia needs the reassurance that the BAF can and will be present in mass to repel the attackers. Also I am so surprised that private business enterprises are lacking defence platforms. Why is that? This is not like Liberty, which we are used to. Sincere Regards Cliff Hunter GM DSE)-Bretonian Division RE: TO: Benedict Callahan, Secretary to the Cabinet - Markam - 06-03-2020 Cliff Hunter, GM, The Bretonian Government thanks you for your corporation for considerable work rebuilding valuable infrastructure. Yes, the events in Dublin were terrible, though not unexpected. The bases located within that system were fairly lackluster in defensive placement, likely owing to the disorganized state Mollys were in during the war. The Gallic Royal Navy likewise were unconcerned with hitting our economy, as their drive was a head-shot on our capital. Nevertheless, we have inflicting several defeats upon the sieging forces during their operations, leading to what I would consider considerable losses to their limited resource pool. The bases were unfortunately lost, but modular bases are, and I apologies if this sounds harsh, expendable by nature, and can be rebuilt. As to the defensibility of bases within Bretonia, indeed, they are currently limited in weapon platforms due to government policy to restrict said platforms. This policy is being reviewed, and will likely be discarded, allowing unlimited building of weapon platforms on Bretonian bases. DSE is proud of its efforts and its results. It appears we are up against it somewhat. If those rumours are true and the intelligence fed to me is even moderately accurate, then we are dire straights! I am a businessman Mr Callahan, and DSE) needs to work from a point of certainty. Our smelter is totally unprotected. It has no shield, no defence platforms and no hope should an invading pore into Bretonia's heartland. What assurances do we have about my workers and my plant/equipment? Can we count on the BAF? Have you called on Bretonia's allies like the Liberty Navy? We need to know, Mr Callahan, and we need to know now. Sincere Regards Cliff Hunter GM DSE)-Bretonian Division RE: TO: Benedict Callahan, Secretary to the Cabinet - DSE|= - 06-05-2020 DEEP SPACE ENGINEERING Bretonia- HQ ¤-¤-¤-¤-¤-¤-¤-¤ TRANSMISSION-outwards ¤-¤-¤-¤-¤-¤-¤-¤ SENDER: Cliff Hunter POSITION: GM DSE) Bretonian Division Secretary to the Cabinet Bretonian Government Mr Callahan, We acknowledge your communique regarding the changes to defence platforms. Clearly there is something that has prompted this unprecedented decision to allow citizens to take up arms. I strongly suspect there is some truth to those rumours. DSE) Bretonia has decided, in the best interest of its personnel, and business interests to halt all operations within New London. This, we hope you will understand, is only a temporary measure. We will station all staff back at Old Trafford, our HQ. Veltman Smelter becomes problematic. We can dismantle Veltman class PoB's in no short order and moth-ball it. However, we are also thinking, given the circumstances, to offer it the Her Majesties Government for repurposing. My thinking is BAF may wish to turn it into some defence base. So, we offer to donate Veltman to your cause. Should you wish to capitalise on DSE)'s investment, it will be on the proviso that it be returned should these rumours come to naught. Naturally we cannot supply staff, and supplies, to operate Veltman so that is a responsibility Her Majesties forces will need to supply. We await your decision about Veltman Smelter, Mr Callahan. Sincere Regards Cliff Hunter GM DSE)-Bretonian Division RE: TO: Benedict Callahan, Secretary to the Cabinet - DSE|= - 07-29-2020 TO: ..................... Benedict Callahan, Secretary to the Cabinet CC: ..................... CC- DSE) - GM BCC: ................. SUBJECT: ...... Update DSE) operations Bretonia Mr Callahan
This is both an update and a thankyou on behalf of DSE) Bretonia. It has been some 5-6 weeks since the combined Enclave and Corsair assaults on various business in Bretonia, and some of DSE) Bretonia's assets were not exempt. In particular Veltman Smelter was targeted and attacked. Granted, the smelter was at that time commandeered by the BAF, and continues to be used as a defence platform for the interim. Never-the-less we wish to thank your government and the BAF for the excellent defence put up. Manchester: We are pleased to announce all contracted work in Manchester has been completed. The damaged trade lanes have been repaired, Birmingham Station is fully functional and the new trade-lane and Jump-gate to Newcastle also fully functional. Old Trafford is now in some sense redundant as work has dried up, but will be maintained and serviced awaiting final decisions about its future. We have no large-scale works in the pipeline so may mothball the base until required. New London: Veltman Smelter will continue to be commandeered to support the New London system from attack. Regrettably this meant a drop in productivity with the dismantling of Southampton during the crisis. We did, given the placement of BAF personnel on Veltman, send our crews to assist the repairs of Kensington Shipping Platform and Canterbury Station as well as servicing the tradelanes. Purchase of Brighton Business Concourse. We inform you of the purchase of this establishment and our original intent to rename it to Crystal Palace and use it as a permanent HQ for the Bretonian Division. This was a very heavy financial outlay for DSE) but did show our commitment to working with Bretonia's government for the long term. In light of the work being completed in Manchester, and little else available on the radar, our initial intention to have BBC as a permanent HQ in Bretonia is under review. This review includes discussion whether to close the Bretonian Division and working out from our New York HQ permanently. At this stage there appears little on the horizon to warrant a permanent presence and the upkeep of facilities within Bretonia. That ends our update, and once again please pass onto the various forces our thanks for the protection against the incursion forces. Regards, Cliff Hunter GM DSE) Bretonian Division |
