Psuedo new Discovery player. Not huge into RP but slowly getting the hang of it.
Was wondering if anyone would be so kind to provide guides on how to get a decent flow of income. Missions are a little tedious

Grab yourself a 5ker (ship with 5k cargo space) and trade ore. You can check some mining fields in the following article (https://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=134587) but it is not totally up-to-date at all and some information may be irrevelant. It would be the best if you had a friend to mine the ore directly from the field for you, but you can also buy it from a POB (Player Owned Base). POBs might be out of ore too as people tend to empty them rather fast
As per profit: 5k of ore is usually sold for something about 48m while you buy it for ~15m fro a POB so it's 30m profit in some 15-20 minutes depending on how fast you reach B from A Trading tends to become boring after some time, though.I wasn't active recently so can't tell if all the routes are still working as they used to. Eg. I used to haul Gold Ore from Dublin (or POBs in New London) to New Berlin and then Aluminium Ore from Munich to New London. Alu Ore is usually unavailable in POB,s though.
Alternatively you can buy yourself a freighter and jettison the ore on top of you and then F1 to relog into a 5ker. It tends to work if there are no players nearby to mine for you but the ore might be tractored by NPCs or simply disappear as you relog. Keep that in mind that you need to park the 5ker more or less exactly on the spot where you will be mining in a freighter.

I'm currently making around 10m ever hour from missions. Is trading the most profitable method?

It's not hard to get 68 millions(excluding buying costs) per 40 minutes by trading.
make hegemon to fill Elemton base near Erie on your own if there's no Helium
and just trade this Helium to any place, taking with your transport from the same station
I prefer to New London
where you can take either Gold Ore from Pobs in dublin(or by asking miners to fill you)
or taking Artifacts from Sunderland Station, on your way to New York back. take Consumer Goods while you fly from New London to New Castle on your way to artifacts.

Think about buying Kamome with GMG ID.
that's very good one.
It can mine Helium on its own, and flies smoothly through trade lanes.
There's a good route which is available for Kamome ship only, as it can mine both ores on its own.
Delivering Helium to to Sigma 59, selling for Border Worlds - Sigma 59 - Niigata Star City - GMG - $6832, where you can mine Helium 3 and return wth it to - Liberty - New York - Planet Pittsburgh - Deep Space Engineering - $9412, selling helium3 for a lot of credits there.

generally, contraband is always better than delivering regular commodities
and some ore equal and most ores are having better prices than even contraband
but contraband is saving time in acquiring your cargo.

Thank you for the response! I'll work a few missions and see if I can get into the GMG trade. Currently shooting down nomads at a low price. Hoping to get my first trader by tomorrow!

good idea btw. 20 mln is enough to buy kamome. flying only one time in one way is enough for gathering money to pay back.
