I like this idea and find it very useful not only for new players but some olds as well. I know enough people who use "F3-and-forget" tactic and this is painful to watch how they try to dock a station for several minutes without success, waltzing around it

The following may look too crappy to implement, but maybe it would also help somewhat to place the "docking lights" (those that only turn on when the ship is docking) on large ships to the "docking point" of those ships. Although that's near the nose of those ships, it may end up not looking very good. It doesnt seem to be at the exact front for ships like the mastodon though. Not sure if it would end up looking good or really being that helpful, but could it possibly make quickdocking those ships on lanes easier?

It will be quite problematic to nomad ships as there are no suitable effects to use to mark ship's dock point

Could be that a 'dockpoint light' could be added to each large ships' cockpit model? So when you want to quickdock, swap to cockpit mode and line up the docking light with the corresponding point on the station. Avoids issues with funky looking running lights being visible to other people on the ship model itself.

There are quickdock points on all bases I think. If you made a tutorial for all the quickdock points on the base models it might save time.

Many newbies are not aware of the mining guide's existence. Do you really think they will go and check other guides as fast dock one?

Wesker's brain made him type that because it wants to receive more endorphins from blue messages obtained from noobs who couldnt dock fast enough.

Unfortunately it lacks the capacity to understand that with the commonality of the docking problem amidst noobs who cant dock properly also when wesker isnt seal clubbing them in front of a base, making docking easier has the potential to raise the server population because less people will go "pfff crappy mod cant even dock" and leave, and Wesker's brain could receive even more endorphins than now, when he can murder more noobs away from bases because there would be more noobs to murder.

I think it is important we feel empathy for poor Wesker despite his condition.

LR Asteroid Base in California has obvious quickdock points but are rather unpleasant on the eye. Maybe a set of guidance lights, like Shinagawa Station in New Tokyo could be added to the quickdock point?

Not sure how difficult it is to edit vanilla models, but wouldnt it be easy to stick a standard air lock mooring point on the asteroid?

They are there, it's just that newbies don't know about quickdocking and locations for it.
