Freelancer Critical Warning - Eternal - 03-15-2009

Well , I just got my new PC.

Installed FL and everything that it needs , regular stuff done it at least 10 times , and when I start the game , this shows up.

Freelancer Critical Warning

Freelancer does not recognize your 3D video card
freelancer may have trouble running

Would you like to continue ?

Y/N

Now , I clicked "Yes" and the game ran like normal , I tried SP , again normal. I tried to connect to the server and it was full , no problem there , I clicked a couple of times , but it seemed like there are a lot of people and I can't connect. I have had this problem before , what I didn't have however is that after a few clicks , in trying to connect to the server , the game froze and was "Not Responding".

Never happend to me before. Also I don't know if there is a connection , but still...

Halp ?

I'd go ahead and say the videocard is probably not the problem. I've gotten that warning on every computer I've ever tried to run freelancer on.

Worst part is , that when the game freezes , 99% of the time I need to restart my machine , because no matter how many times I press - ctrl alt del - mouse doesn't show up and I can't select a think , even the task manager doesn't show up some times.

A couple of possibilities, depending on what video chip you have:

First of all, regardless of the chip type, are your drivers up to date?

Second, are you running the ENBseries effects? If so, try disabling them and deleting the following files from your EXE folder:d3d8.dll and enbseries.ini.

<strike>Other than that, the only thing I can suggest is a fresh reinstall of the game, FLMM, and the mod.</strike>

Looks like you tried that part already.

Also, try viewing the error report and look up by Microsoft what it pertains to specifically.

Here is what I did :

I removed my NOD32 antivirus and installed AVG , never had any trouble with it.

Then I search for files connected with the blood effect. Found 1 , called "bloom" destroyed it! Game runs fine now..

Thanks to everyone who helped me!

How'd you get AVG to work?
