A Judge's Journal - AlphaWolf215 - 05-05-2020 Lupas awoke to bright lights, a clinical atmosphere surrounding him. The quiet "Beep... Beep..." of the heart rate monitor beside him. Lupas went to sit up, but found himself almost unable to move, his limbs stiffer than he'd ever felt. Combat training in the academy had never left him feeling this bad, and he'd gone toe to toe with some of the best "The Order" could throw at him, not always by choice of course. The Order. A momentary panic rushed through him, before the training kicked in, forcing himself to slow his breathing. He had to make contact, call Logan, or Douglas, or Yohance, or even Emmure... No, of course not. Lupas hadn't heard from them in months. He had set out to find whoever remained but then... A tray clattered to the floor Oh my lord, you're awake He turned, as much as he could manage, to look at the individual who had entered. A young lady, evidently a nurse by the uniform, carrying something that now lay scattered across the floor. He went to speak, but it was no more than a wheeze. How long had he lain here to be stiff as a board, and unable to speak Please, Mr, uh, Wolf, lie still. You've been in a coma.. A coma? And Mr? He was clearly a... ...for about 5 months now. We've taken care of you, and we'll have you back on your feet in no time, I'm sure! The smile, clearly trying to hide the worry in her eyes. He'd trained for years to be able to read people, had to, in his line of work. She was a civilian, not used to hiding how she truly felt from someone who knew where to look. He couldn't talk, that much was clear, and sitting up wasn't going to happen but if he could... Did you... did you move your finger? He tried again, definite movement this time. A twitch, only in his little finger. It was all he needed. Hope. A small glimmer was enough. After all, there's work needs doing. And Lupas. Lupas is a Judge. RE: A Judge's Journal - AlphaWolf215 - 05-27-2020 Lupas spent just under 4 months in physiotherapy, regaining the use of his body, training himself back to fitness. About a month in he’d tired of the pandering of the hospital doctors, but a mysterious benefactor had sent a trainer to help. He said he’d worked with the military, which was fine in Lupas’ book. Anything to get him back to fighting fitness was what he needed. He needed to be pushed to his limits, no less was expected of him and his fellow Judges... Lupas still hadn’t heard from them. Months he’d been in that coma. Another 4 (almost) spent in therapy. Not a single word But that’s wasn’t like them. Was it possible that they could actually be.. gone? He didn’t have time to be sentimental. That’s what got you killed. When it came down to the wire, you had to stay alert. He realised that very quickly when he took a right hook on his jaw. Thats enough for today son. No. Keep going. The trainer, as good as he was, wasn’t a Judge. He didn’t understand that for him there was no giving in. He had to keep pushing, keep improving. He has to be better because that’s what was expected, by him and others. The trainer was already taking off his gloves, a clear sign that he was done for the day. Lupas had learned this in earlier sessions. He stepped over to his small pile of belongings, grabbing a towel to wipe the sweat from his face. As he redressed himself in his uniform, Lupas found himself reflecting on what needed to be done, what had occurred, and where he would need to go next. Finally, he grabbed the badge. He looked at it for a moment before placing it in a pocket. It had been given to him when he passed the Academy, transitioning from Cadet to Judge. It was time to make some calls. |
