A Quest for Solidarity - sajuuk111 - 05-06-2020 ID: Layla Velasquez Professions: Vetenarian, Head Vet. and Organization Owner in N|-Scyldtruma.Animalis, Animal Hospital/Shelter *inside her head*Leaving the wildlife on Scyldtruma... I shouldn't have accepted to go there with a new ship! I hate deceiving people about myself. I should proudly hold the "Gaian" rank on me. But whatever! Let's go for a ride, in this small, unimportant ship. A Stargazer. I wish i could stop and look at stars with a relaxed gaze. Never can happen. Never will happen, when the sirius is infested with nomad and humans. Not getting shot by any police, nor being checked. Living in the shadows, sometimes feels good. Now, it feels sad. Sometimes, it gets tiring living on the edge. Let's head to the Andover!*inside her head* Layla: Andover Station, This is Kayla Velasquez. I have an appointment with Peter Hudson. I'm here for escorting him on his transport. Station Control:Roger that, Ms. Velasquez. We are aware of that. You may proceed to docking point Alpha. Huh. It's not a robot. Interesting for a station this small. Layla:Hello? Are you Georgia? I'm here to meet Peter Hudson. Georgia:Hey! He was expecting you! He will be here soon, he was gone to take some... supplies for the construction. Dont mind the noise and... the mess here. We are still building the base!Would you like to have a cup of tea while waiting? Layla:That sounds lovely. I would love to have it with milk! I have never had one like that before. Not like the ones we had in Torshavn, or Freeport. I guess there are some reasons to work for government, maybe... Better drink one more, while waiting! Layla:Is there any chance that i can have another one? This was... great! Georgia:Here you go miss. We have plenty while you are waiting. Do not worry! Captain Hudson has told me to give you a nice accomodation. Hope he arrives soon! RE: A Quest for Solidarity - Connor - 05-07-2020 ![]() The station was a mess but that was expected for a new station currently undergoing construction. There were workers all over the place fitting all sorts of products ranging from state of the art transmitters to simple chairs in offices. Everyone here had a specific purpose and everyone had strict deadlines to meet as the station had to be finished quick. There was no room for errors. Hudson's offices were around the corner from where Layla sat. These were much closer to completion then the rest. This was to allow the administration staff to move in and start working. A long narrow hallway ran down the middle dividing several rooms, much like a runway with hangars either side. Each of these rooms, separated with crystal clear glass walls, contained either conference tables or computers. One of these rooms had opake glass which made it difficult to see into but this was not without purpose. This was Hudson's office. He'd often spend a lot time here running the station or speaking to his bosses. Hudson comes flying around the corner and then suddenly stops with both hands on his head. Georgia, I don't know why I bother sometimes. He spoke trying to keep calm but it was evident he was angry at something. Do you ever get those days where you just want to punch a wall and call it quits? That's the sort of day I'm having down. My boss is down my throat, this wretched enclave gave me a lot of lip today. I'm suprised I'm still here. He takes a deep breath in, holds it then releases it out slowly trying to calm himself down when he gets a glance from Georgia who coughs quietly to get his attention.
Peter, this is Layla. You two have a meeting, remember? Oh, yes! I didn't expect to see you were so soon. Follow me, Layla. I'll take you to my office. We have much to discuss. Hudson makes a small gesture and points towards his office where he leads Layla down and offers her a seat. I never thought we'd actually be here spoke Hudson is a much calmer voice. Please, take a seat. I have to apologise about earlier and the mess. I've had a pretty rough day. I've been getting a lot of agro from everywhere in the chain today. My boss and my colleagues. Trying to run a station is probably the hardest thing I've ever done. Anyway, I'm interested. These walls are sound proof and the door is locked. Only Georgia can get into this room. Lets just recap. You want to save the Wildlife, but you need help? Where do I come in?
RE: A Quest for Solidarity - sajuuk111 - 05-08-2020 Layla takes a look around the office. It looks... sad. I guess Peter didnt have time to decorate this office.
Pleasure to meet you in person, Peter. Mind if i call you by your name? I'm not really... Used to talking to people by their surname face-to-face.
*Hudson feels comfortable enough to be called by his name* Anyway, Peter. I really dont know. I have been called ... Nevermind. Shouldnt tell you right now. This is our first meeting after all, and dont really know if we can meet again. Much depends on the first impressions, dont you think?
*Hudson is silent, waiting to hear the real deal.* Basically... I'm running a ship, that is filled up with Gaian Fauna and Wildlife, recovered from the scum smugglers that is trying to sell it for expensive price. We also do... covert operations on Planet Gaia to recover the wildlife that has been hurt, and deserted. In the breeding camps or smuggling camps of Gaia.
All of them are costly. And we are looking for benefactors to... Help us. Financial help is always appreciated, but having the numbers on our side, and people acknowledging the seriousness of the situation is... better. What can you do to increase the awareness in your company? I know you are tired, but... maybe that can be a new spice in your life. RE: A Quest for Solidarity - Connor - 05-29-2020 Hudson is silent, thinking to himself about the whole issue that has just been presented to him. How is he going to help? What happens if he is caught? That was probably the biggest thing on his mind. He's only just been promoted and is now overseeing the construction of an entire installation so it was clear Hudson was a bit nervous about this. First impressions are certainly a big thing and go along way to securing a deal. Increasing awarness in the company is going to be an extremely hard thing to do if I just let every tom dick and harry know that this new campaign to raise awarness for wildlife is infact helping the Gaians. You have to understand that. Though, thinking about it now I do have a possible idea about reserving a bit of space on Andover to help support wildlife. This could be a decent PR move on behalf of Bowex and if I can pull it off it would help you out well too.
Hudson sloughes back into his chair so that he is in a more comfortable position. When you first spoke to me about this you mentioned something about a habitat. I can't remember what you said, CUMMEs or something like that? Can you tell me a bit more about thatand how it works?
RE: A Quest for Solidarity - sajuuk111 - 05-30-2020 Layla is distracted by a call from her cellphone. She is called back to Freeport 1, immediately. I'll answer all of your questions, sir Hudson. Give me a couple of days, and we shall return to topic. I need to go back to Freeport 1, asap. RE: A Quest for Solidarity - sajuuk111 - 06-01-2020 How should i tell this to him? Ugh. Well... the worst is already happened... Peter, Georgia let me in. I guess she knows me after our last meeting. That was a rollercoaster. I was on a mission to deliver CUMEC systems to OSC, then on the way back, Gaians declared me as an hostile entity, effectively disabling me to dock on them, and all my crew was homeless! My doings were too pacifist for them... Too friendly... If they think like that, i guess it is best for me to get away from them anyway. All i did was to find humans who think like humans, guess thats too hard to do it in Gaian ranks.Peter, i am essentially homeless as well. They have kicked me out of Gaian bases, my ship is docked at Lanzarote, and Jane Yorkfield has gone to New York to find support. I have nowhere to go except Crete or find shelter in Zoners. Zoners are pretty friendly to me, so i will stick on their bases for now. However there is something that you can do for me, and can really help the wildlife while doing so. I need to get my reputation cleaned up. I have never commited any crimes, but you know, being associated with Gaians is already a burden that i need to carry with me. I'll join the Zoner ranks, but need to dock to Planet Cambridge. I cant do it now, and if you help me with that, we can talk more. So, what do you say? RE: A Quest for Solidarity - Connor - 06-02-2020 Peter, after spendig the last two hours filling out paper work, drops his pen on the desk and looks up at Layla with a slightly disapointed look. What did I say about first impressions? They are incredibly important and once they're made they tend to stick. You running off like you did really didn't set a good impression, especially when I am incredibly busy. Maybe being "kicked out" of the Gaians was a good thing and you might be able to get your life back on track? It would certainly make things easier if I decide to help you out but running out like you did could put everything in jeopardy.
After a short pause, Peter has an ultimatum for Layla. I'm going to be blunt. Ever since you spoke about the CUMEC system it has peaked my interest. This self sufficient eco-system that you can build and habour animals in is something I could use here to help with making this station self sufficient reducing the workload so that we can focus on building Bretonia back to its former glory. I also have a small Percheron convoy heading to Planet Cambridge in the coming days to pick up crew for the station. Lets make a deal. You tell me how this COMEC system works, any blueprints and advise on it and I'll get you into Planet Cambridge.
What do you say? RE: A Quest for Solidarity - sajuuk111 - 06-03-2020 Scared. Just scared. Why would he talk like that? Okay Mr. Hudson. First of all, please do not get angry with me. I answer to my superiors -or was answering- just like you do. You told me that you were in a rush right? Well, sometimes your boss is a jerk. In my case, they are total nutjobs! What can i do? Don't get angry with me! It wasn't my fault at all. We fulfilled a mission successfully, and then! What? I was punished! after a long talk about bosses and unfairness of the universe Okay. Let's just make past the past. Let's continue. You have mentioned about possibly getting me into Cambridge, thats good! However i have bad news for you. The blueprints were in my ship's database, which i no longer have. So it is gone, but the Gaians can't access it too. Only me, Leonardo and Jane has access to it's codes. Jane is away in New York, Leonardo is at Lanzarote, and i am here. Leonardo is on my side, Jane is... a lawful person. Nevermind. So basically we need to get that ship back. That ship is equipped with Solaris turrets and Light Mortars. It's well defended. However it is still at Lanzarote, and I am sure we can get it back. Hudson, if you can find two bombers or such. I dont know, i am not a tactical master. We can leave that debate to them. I can tell you or the task force when it is moving and we can recover the ship. If we can recover it, it contains valuable data. I can get my CUMEC blueprints back and we can setup one in your station. It may even contain some data useful for BAF/BPI. We have fully charted Coalition space. That's another matter. Basically we need to get it back. The appointed captain to get it back to Torshavn is not really good. It shouldnt be a hard task. So, what do you say? RE: A Quest for Solidarity - Connor - 07-18-2020 A blank expression is left on Peter's face after hearing that someone who abandoned him and then suddenly rushes back to demand military action. His trust in the Gaian was gone for good. No. I'm sorry but I am now in way over my head with this. I barely know you and you're asking me to get the military to find a ship that we have no clue about and could be a trap waiting to happen? This is where I have to say no. I don't trust you anymore, especially after you suddenly running off like that. I would like you to leave please and never come back.
Georgia, please escort Layla out. He watches from his desk as Georgia approaches and hushes Layla out of the door and back towards the hangar. |
