Hypoxia[1] is a condition in which the body or a region of the body is deprived of adequate oxygen supply at the tissue level. Hypoxia may be classified as either generalized, affecting the whole body, or local, affecting a region of the body.[2] Although hypoxia is often a pathological condition, variations in arterial oxygen concentrations can be part of the normal physiology, for example, during hypoventilation training or strenuous physical exercise.

If oxygen delivery to cells is insufficient for the demand (hypoxia), electrons will be shifted to pyruvic acid in the process of lactic acid fermentation. This temporary measure (anaerobic metabolism) allows small amounts of energy to be released. Lactic acid build up (in tissues and blood) is a sign of inadequate mitochondrial oxygenation, which may be due to hypoxemia, poor blood flow (e.g., shock) or a combination of both.[33] If severe or prolonged it could lead to cell death. [34]

In humans, hypoxia is detected by the peripheral chemoreceptors in the carotid body and aortic body, with the carotid body chemoreceptors being the major mediators of reflex responses to hypoxia.[35] This response does not control ventilation rate at normal pO
2, but below normal the activity of neurons innervating these receptors increases dramatically, so much so to override the signals from central chemoreceptors in the hypothalamus, increasing pO
2 despite a falling pCO
2

In most tissues of the body, the response to hypoxia is vasodilation. By widening the blood vessels, the tissue allows greater perfusion.

By contrast, in the lungs, the response to hypoxia is vasoconstriction. This is known as hypoxic pulmonary vasoconstriction, or "HPV".[36]

No, most of them are utter shitters (you're welcome, chaps) and I still don't understand how we managed to make a half-decent faction out of them. Meanwhile there's so many good people in the Enclave, yet the faction as a whole is like a rabid dog without a leash.

Sir Arthur Wellesley, Duke of Wellington (the British general that defeated Napoleon at Waterloo): "The French system of conscription brings together a fair sample of all classes; ours is composed of the scum of the earth — the mere scum of the earth. It is only wonderful that we should be able to make so much out of them afterwards."

Harakat Ahrar al-Sham al-Islamiyya (Arabic: حركة أحرار الشام الإسلامية‎, romanized: ḥarakat aḥrāru š-šām al-islāmiyah, lit. 'Islamic Movement of the Free Men of the Levant'), commonly referred to as Ahrar al-Sham, is a coalition of multiple Islamist and Salafist units that coalesced into a single brigade and later a division in order to fight against the Syrian Government led by Bashar al-Assad during the Syrian Civil War.[41] Ahrar al-Sham was led by Hassan Aboud[9] until his death in 2014.[8] In July 2013, Ahrar al-Sham had 10,000 to 20,000 fighters,[9] which at the time made it the second most powerful unit fighting against al-Assad, after the Free Syrian Army.[42] It was the principal organization operating under the umbrella of the Syrian Islamic Front[9] and was a major component of the Islamic Front.[26] With an estimated 20,000 fighters in 2015,[3] Ahrar al-Sham became the largest rebel group in Syria after the Free Syrian Army became less powerful. Ahrar al-Sham and Jaysh al-Islam are the main rebel groups supported by Turkey.[43] On 18 February 2018, Ahrar al-Sham merged with the Nour al-Din al-Zenki Movement to form the Syrian Liberation Front.[30]

Mind if I join in Shiki?
Željko Ražnatović (Serbian Cyrillic: Жељко Ражнатовић, pronounced [ʐêːʎko raʐnâːtoʋitɕ]; 17 April 1952 – 15 January 2000), better known as Arkan (Аркан), was a Serbian commander of a paramilitary force in the Yugoslav Wars, called the Serb Volunteer Guard. He was on Interpol's most wanted list in the 1970s and 1980s for robberies and murders committed in a number of countries across Europe, and was later indicted by the UN for crimes against humanity for his role during the wars. Ražnatović was, up until his death, the most powerful crime boss in the Balkans. He was assassinated in January 2000, before his trial could take place.

Don't worry, Bretonia hates you too.

I didn't ask for an answer.

Well, then you should say things in church instead.
