Thunderbird's Neural Net - Leo "Thunderbird" - 06-24-2020 Log #1

Shall I leave records in Neural Net? I think it depends on a man and his desire, following benefits or detriments. Well, after 10 minutes of radiosilence, I can start leaving logs if I find or see something worthwhile and useful, but now my first log will be more than simple.
My name is Leo Serre and I was born at planet Marseille in the Kingdom of Gallia, but everyone who lives on Freeport 6 or Shinkaku, knows me under the nickname "Thunderbird". Sometimes I prefer to leave a tight border I had to draw for myself, but I really need money at least to survive. At this moment, my pockets are nearly empty, my notification still unreacted and I hope, somebody will find it. This is my only chance. That's all for now. A gallic corporation named Montluc Advanced Enginnering offered me to register on their bounty boards. Well, their enemies looks the same for me when I've been on duty - Outcasts, Maquis and similar terroristic boogies. A day after unidentified person contacted me and wanted to collect information about IDF and EFL members. Do I have idea, who was that? Corporation rivals, maltese mercenaries, third party or even counterintelligence? I can't tell and I don't really care while they pay to me for services. So I won't stay hungry anymore and my ship has access to royal Promethene.
Kusari started a bloody war against the Gallic nation. God, curse the day and their efforts - Kusarians made a huge mistake by starting an offense in Tau-23 and Languedoc. I hope, honorable Gallic Naval forces will crush them to death. When I was coming back to Freeport 6, I've met a couple of Gallic Royal ships not far from Tau-31 Jumpgates. They looked silent and motionless. And everything could be cool, they gave me permission to pass through them, but there is a single detail: Grenoble and Perpignan. Goddamn, they looked so familiar for me, but I can't remember, when and where I could see them. I need a drink and sleep after. RE: Thunderbird's Neural Net - Leo "Thunderbird" - 07-17-2020 Log #3

Ronnie told me not to drink so much and I haven't done that even a single wineglass for recent couple months. But I had a serious reason: old nightmares have back and had to deal with them before they crash my brains out. A last adventure 2 weeks ago in Tau-37 showed me what have I done. Thank angels and demons, a Zoner transport aroused me from a sudden attack, but I can't really remember what happened. Records show me less than I expected, but I know already one important thing - a story that happened nearly year ago wasn't my imagination. Ghosts are exist - Zoner called them Nomads and I don't know what does that means. On the next day, I tried to ask Freeport 6 residents who are they but got nothing except some scared rumors like they are cruel creatures who live in deep and low-explored Omicrons and they almost led humanity to extinction 25 years ago. They also can take people under control by infestation them, a nice method to infiltrate somebody who isn't aware of the danger.
I am not ready to go to Omicrons right now - my Raven's Talon is weak to fly so far. I should find someone who could explain more. Speaking about ghosts, I had a meeting with Grenoble later in the Baffin system - Gallic battlecruiser was missing in action and shot remaining Royal forces in Newcastle along with the flagship Marseille...I thought that. I swear it's not mirage and person I was talking is none other than Juliette Pascal de Lorraine - a beloved division's commodore and as I could notice she recognized me by voice. I told her I am not Leo and ran away. She was a nice person, but I am not sure shall I trust her after everything happened. RE: Thunderbird's Neural Net - Leo "Thunderbird" - 07-19-2020 Log #4

Miracles happen! I finally found someone who could answer to my question.
So, The Order. Organization who counter Ghosts and specialized in them. Rumors were right - Ghosts or Nomads actually exist and if I heard correctly, they are returned to fight us back. Why old La Division Vipere wasn't aware of them? Or was?... Well, it doesn't really matter now. What really does is a chance to warn the Order and, maybe, Gallia they are in potential danger. How do I know about The Order? I wanted to assess the scale of the war consequences between Kusari and Gallia and have met their pilot not far from Alesia station. We had a short talking and she gave me a public frequency to contact the organization. I must do this once I back to Freeport 6. RE: Thunderbird's Neural Net - Leo "Thunderbird" - 08-02-2020 Log #5

Maia haven't lied to me - her frequency was right and their inquisitor (What a weird rank) contacted me very soon. He or she said to meet their squadron's CO at the Java Station - it's an IMG remote station in nearby Tau-23 system.
Somebody named Jessica with a pronounced Rheinland accent found me there and we talked a bit about the Order, The Nomads, and entrance procedure. From what I heard, Sirian people face the Nomads over than 25 years, so rumors on the Freeport were true and Gallia seems to be in danger, if we take into account RNS Embrun was captured by the Nomads. Sending an application through a secure channel is the first step to do something. I offered them my services to work undercover in Gallia and Purple Comet offered me to contact Confederacy and remove my royal status. Might be a good idea, but if my concerns are true and RNS Grenoble really works on the hostile side, I should keep my MIA status until we resolve this 'little' issue. Let's see, what they can say. As soon as I returned to the Freeport 6, I was forced to dive into weird events. One of the greatest one is a charity banquet organized by de Lorraine. Yes, I wrote that right - my former commander and Commodore made a generous gift for Zoners and random visitors like me.
Do not ask me, how it's happened, but Juliette (yes, now I can call her just by name) recognized me despite my conspiracy attempts. After small show in the hall, we had a private talk about us and what happened after Newcastle. It's hard to believe she was involved to mess and she really ordered Grenoble's crew to attack allies, especially after meeting. She even hasn't tried to harm or kill me in any way and everything could be fine. But... Her eyes. Their irises have turned to violet and Juliette said it's because of implants that replaced her bullseye. And I couldn't remember her true eyes color until I couldn't check the photo album I have made two years ago - green color. Her eyes were like grass so far. Anyway, let's put it aside for a while. Old "Lynx" restoration should be prioritized and can help me in my future purposes. I make a new page in my Neural Net to track the progress. To keep me in safety I decided to contact The Order for immediate evacuation and asked them to bring a transport with a hidden signature to keep the operation in covert.
They arrived at the Freeport 6 in 2 days right after the message and we quickly moved with my old fighter from the dock #33 to transport's cargo pod and we started moving away. Most of trip was calm - nobody chased or tried to interrupt us until we reached the Tohoku system. Mon Dieu, this area was surprisingly different from anything I have seen before - hostility reached us right after diving out from the jumphole. Enormously sized Kusari law-enforcement tried to make us busted, but we managed to hide deep in cloud. When we finally returned to the nominal way, the agent told me something about a huge planetoid named Arch. I quote: "Aoi Iseijin are the kings of this system. Bunch of nomad infected psychopaths." Omicron Sigma was an out next destination and this time we couldn't avoid a direct confrontation against...them. The Ghosts, The Nomads. It's the first since Newcastle tragedy I heard their whispers. Adom shouted me not to listen to them and not to be afraid to attack them. And we made it - we burned all of them and got out of this place. And very soon we arrived at the Akabat - unusual terrestrial satellite near huge gas giant. Adom request to dock on the nearest drydock to fix the damage they got in Tohoku and Omicron Sigma and landed on this...planet or moon, whatever. There is no way back. It's been several days since I officialy joined The Order. What can I say about this organisation? Multination paramilitary structure that lives on the edge of Sirius - somewhere I couldn't even imagine. There are very few civic ground settlements and about a dozen military objects focused on planetary defence and personnel training. Speaking about people, they are...different, really, and mostly silent and moody, however, which is not surprising if we take into account, what kind of power they are countering.
After prior medical inspection and instructions, the local commander told me to look at the old archives in regards to events of First Nomad War, as he claimed. So I used my whole day for reading all this stuff. Freeport 7...Admiral Schultzky...Rheinland invasion...accusations against the Order...Survivors missing. Too much new for me and that happened 27 years ago when Nomads have arrived for the first time. I didn't even read everything, but now I can see, what can happen if nobody is capable to stop them. I even start thinking our King was under their influence - I wouldn't be surprised if that is true. Besides, The Order provided me access to their two main ships - Nephthys and Bastet. They both are different and hard to control, but I was surprised at their potential - since Lynx is a versatile beast, they two are "tank" and "nimble hummingbird" with their own specific advantages and disadvantages. Flight training series must begin soon and I must show them, how strong I am. RE: Thunderbird's Neural Net - Leo "Thunderbird" - 08-19-2020 Log #9

Life in the Order is funny lately. Finally, I received my first real task in Omicrons to escort a freighter to the Taphanhes station (publically the station was known as Dabadoru - former local Core stronghold). I must say, they are true bastards who will stop at nothing for gaining profit, this is another cruel force that exists in edge worlds. While scouting I found a really weird structure not far from the nebula in the Omicron Delta, and I called for bomber reinforcements. Several Sekhmets without any hesitation launched torpedoes, destroyed it, and explained to me that was one of the sudden Nomad settlements in this area, so removal was a mandatory option.
After arrival, I had a meeting with commandant Lightning or Dave Bossuel, who returned back from the Liberty yesterday. He told an interesting story about a "Girl talking in riddles" names herself "Broken Wings", which one was very young, scarred, and with a damaged eye. She also was familiar with one of our High Command officers and called Dave "Luna's friend". No idea is that true or just another fairytale but sounds promising. Well, I have nothing to add more until I'll get news or another task. RE: Thunderbird's Neural Net - Leo "Thunderbird" - 09-24-2020 Log #10

I feel like I'm starting to get used to life in deep Omicrons. My efforts didn't go unnoticed too - middle command promoted me to Lieutenant and now I am junior officer within the Order ranks. Besides, "Alisia" recovery was eventually finished and I made a test flight from Akabat to Carthage. It's hard to describe, how pleasant it was to take Lynx's cockpit once again and, I hope, Alisia will become my main spacecraft very soon.
But we're not done yet. The ship still requires certain compatibility tests with Sirian-produced weaponry and also needs very specific software to mask ship's actual affiliation. I heard, High Command sent a special squadron to systems, occupied by Royal enclave, but I didn't know what the purpose of their trip. Yesterday rumors about infected gallic battleship were confirmed, which increases my concerns, because it was not Marseille nor Embrun. That means, infection still spreading within Royal Remnants and only heavens know, what will happen next. |
