Faction Info

After the fall of Leeds at Gallic hands, the population of Halifax has become completely and unjustifiably xenophobic and intolerant of anything and everything gallic. It is quite often when a gallic ship docks on Halifax, it ends up being torn apart to be used to fortify one of the thousands of issues the people face on this death trap of a station, and the pilots get shoved out an airlock to the frostfire of the smog outside. Those on Halifax are mostly those that were left behind during evacuations, as is the Empire's way, nobles and the rich were taken first, you'll find no nobles upon Halifax, and thus they have taken far more kindly to housing unlawful entities, and trusting them far more, most of them being Leeds survivors, ex-Mollies or Gaians, small time pirates and zoners, they are open minded to the underworld around them, as their centralized position, you will find anyone from Mollys and the IMG, to Zoners and perhaps the occasional hacker spy to see what Halifax is all about or a disgruntled insurgent looking for a drink across the Magellan divide.

The Halifax survivors abhor cardamine, the last thing they need upon Halifax is crippling addictions on top of bunk rooms completely detaching from the port in the middle of the night, while outcasts and their vassals are not banned from Halifax, they are likely to be shot if using anything other than a personal mask while on board the Jerry-rigged port. The standard rules of the port apply to everyone except Bretonian authority and those of Gallic descent. When unwanted parties reer their ugly heads, those on Halifax offer a free round of drinks to the Mollies or Gaians to get rid of them, which usually ends about the way you'd expect the two groups to deal with their business.

Goals (ooRP)

Primary

To make Halifax Freeport seem like a far more lively place in a roleplay setting, so that it isn't just another boring freelancer station that people dock at conveniently when they're finished with their business in space. Opening up roleplay avenues and establishing relationships with those around them.

Secondary

Staying the hell away from that sociopathic political drama that comes with being an official faction. Avoid administration issues and pixel power arguments that many a faction fall victim to over their course of existence, anyone can dock on Halifax, we'll just treat you the way our "faction" (loose collective of civvies living in an actual junkyard in space) would based upon who you are and what your background may be.

Equipment

The Majority of the denizens upon Halifax do not own their own ships, many have allowed their ships to be cannibalized into the Station's framework so everyone can survive, as they continue to work from both in and out, their space walk equipment have been lined with plated scrap metal to protect them from the floating scrap outside the station, though it can only do so much depending on the velocity. Halifax is a living nightmarish hell for anyone that calls it home, the denizens upon Halifax could be best described as the "Working Homeless" as at any moment, the station's walls could crack and leave them temporarily without hearth, or completely dead, even the slums of Leeds couldn't compare to this backwater hovel. Being the people on Halifax have barely any in the way of credits, they've fallen back on jerry-rigging anything they can get their hands on, nowhere near as well as the Junkers, their ships are liable to actively fall apart in space, the only weaponry they own is technology from their past lives, or low-grade civilian weaponry they either scrounge up enough to purchase or find on the numerous wrecks in the system. You'll never see a Halifaxian transport, freighters being the largest ships they have.

The only equipment you will see on Halifax snubcraft will be Sirius-wide civilian technology, such as the flashpoint line, the pulse weapon line as well as the chaingun line with the recently developed Moonblasts being too advanced for them to acquire. In addition to Sirius-wide weaponry they have access to Sirian Colonial weaponry developed by Liberty and Bretonia, the Ross and Enfield line, as well as the Garand line.

When it comes to Halifax ships, you will see everything from the CTE-line Starflier, to the Renzu Anki, The Clydesdale being the only colonial freighter they posess, you will never see a QX-BW series ship in their roster, as those on Halifax are not in league with anyone that they could acquire such ships from, and none in their past lives owned such a ship, they do not seek to acquire the series as its outlandish design in comparison to the easy upkeep of the CTE is hardly appealing, they prefer indipendant ships such as the Jackdaw to the Switchblade or its kin. The most "advanced" freighter you will see from a Halifax is the Repair Ship which is still highly scarce among their roster. Gallic technology is completely out of their hands, nor would they ever be convinced to use it due to their unjustifiable hatred for all things Gallic after their home was obliterated, nor are any of them rich enough to afford bombers of any type. Limited to entirely snubcraft, this makes the job of supplying their home quite difficult, making them even more dependent on the local pirate convoys.
