Subject: Contract

Bonsoir dear mesdames et messieurs of the Interstellar Beacon,

My name is Julien Vachon, the owner of the Altair Robotic Inc. I hope you forgive me if I cut right to the case as this matter is quite important for me.

Recently my corporation bought a station in the system of Languedoc in the Gallic border worlds. It used to be a facility that belonged to a minor corporation such as mine but they left Gallia and thus abandoned this facility. With the begin of the conflict between the Confederal Gallia and Kusari Empire, our station is now in danger as may be threatened by both sides as a potential place for a fort in their further advancement, in the case of Kusari, or as a defensive fort in the case of Gallia, if Kusari will take control over Nimes.

Since you are working closely with the jump drive technologies and similar to them by the purpose I would like to order a jumping of my station to the coordinates I shall provide your people with. I hope this is possible and if yes - interesting for you?

Looking forward to your answer.

Greetings Julien Vachon.

Understandable matter. Wars go, civilians get hurt. We would help you to escape the fate of many others.

Conveniently for you, we are currently in the process of moving another station, which is put on hold due to the complexity of steps we require to perform for the chosen path and high instability of the economic situation in Sirius. I think more the latter than the former. In any way, we already have some experience dealing with it.

We believe in taking a close and adaptive approach for every case like that, therefore we require more information about where would you like to move your station from and to which system and preferably exact location.

The blueprints of your stations are also required, as we would need to perform analysis, what's best suiting your case, and without such crucial information, it would be hardly possible. Of course, we can offer you a standard non-disclosure agreement being signed, for any specifics of your station is not being disclosed to any other third party, to not harm you against some pirate attack in the future, and we can even offer specifics of your station erased after the project being executed. Nevertheless, any ideas and technologies used and created by our members during the project would still belong to the Interstellar Beacon company.

If that's acceptable conditions for you, we would be up to the task.

Best regards, Raul Golden, administrator of Intestellar Beacon.

Subject: Details about the contract & the station

Monsieur Golden,

Please, accept our deepest apologies for the delay in the response. Unfortunately, the conflict between Kusari and the Confederacy escalated and involved more participants than it was expected. Neither of the sides is not harming civilian vessels but their combat performances near trade lanes are dangerous for safe passage in and out of Gallia through the Languedoc. We have had to change our routes to ensure the safety of our ships. A small corporation like mine cannot allow any ship to be lost to ensure profits.

The following information should be under the non-disclosure agreement. It also required to be removed after the station shall be moved but as you said - any ideas and technologies used and created the Interstellar Beacon belong to the said subject.

The station is Kerguelen fabrication facility, located in Languedoc, next to the wrecks and inside the debris field of Remoulis station, destroyed about a decade ago. For several months it remained abandoned and slowly decayed, being damaged by the wrecks, but we bought it, repaired and redesigned for our needs.

From its current position, the station has to be moved to the Brittany system, known to Sirius people as Orkney. No need to worry about locals, they shall not interfere with this particular operation and I believe you understand well that the information about them should be removed as well. The following file should provide you with the estimated location we would like our facility to be moved to.

I hope you shall agree to deal with this even despite the particular details I have revealed for you.

Greetings Julien Vachon.

We made the analysis of available options, how we could be using minimum resources for the best effectiveness available to your situation.

Project name: Guarded shortcut

Decription: Finding routes between Languedoc and Orkey we have found guarded passage between those two systems. Having installed sublight one-time used engines, we could move the station to the desired location. The problem is that the passage is guarded by AI-controlled weapon platforms, and we think that it would be difficult to obtain permission, as well as patrols belonging to Kusari and even some gallic designed battleship standing at some distance from the mine-free passage. All things considered, we would need at least some sort of radar jammer, to be not activating weapon platforms and multiple sensors of guarding parties.

Requirements: Installing sublight engines

Problem to solve: Getting permissions from all parties or finding radar jammer and means to disable weapon platforms.

Project name: Bumpy ride

Decription: Alternative route has been found leading through Tau-44 jump hole, with a long long path through moving later to Tau-32 then to Orkney, or through Rousillon then Edinburg and from there to Orkney. Multiple stations belonging to different stations on the path, plus a lot of asteroids in different systems make this path quite hard one. As an additional difficulty, besides just rocks, there are ice asteroids and gas exploding fields.

Requirements: Installing engines to cross much bigger distance, which would not explode gases.

Problem to solve: Permissions from guarding station parties or alternative way to counter them, plus equipment to clean the path in a dense rock/ice asteroid fields.

Project name: Breaking walls

Decription: Closely eyeing so close jump hole to Orkney for direct jump without the ability to use it, one of our engineers with more non-standardized thinking, created an idea about movement through 'walls instead of doors'. Imagine a super bullet/explosion-proof door with the highest electronic security the world could offer, right? Why should we be moving through it, when walls around the door could be much weaker and easier to move through! Just explode them instead of the door. Thus, we have decided to send more specialized equipped ships to scan 'thin' enough location leading from Languedoc to Orkney. There we could utilize created by the mentioned engineer a prototype device to break further through the 'veil' and forming a temporal jump hole for the station to cross the path between systems. We would only need the necessary tools and computing power to tune it up to the task.

Requirements: Installing sublight one-time used engines. Having the necessary one-time used fuel enough for the device usage.

Problem to solve: Having hyper scanning ships available. Having a high processing mainframe to calculate the necessary parameters to choose the right location and for the device tuning.

All things considered, we recommend the third path because all problems for that our organization can solve on our own. We already have the necessary computing power and scanning vessels to perform it. If you do agree with it, we would ask you to acquire for your station some necessary list of commodities required on your side to perform it. The rest would be handled by our staff.

Best regards, Raul Golden, administrator of Intestellar Beacon.

Bonjour. Another apology for the long delay.

These damn kusarians activated automated defence of our station and we were locked down for a while.

The most promising for me is the so-called "Breaking walls". I also can ensure you our station has one of the best available on Gallic market non-military grade hardware which may be useful for calculations, required for this.

Greetings again, Julien Vachon.

We proceed with the chosen plan then.
Indeed, Kusarians presence there is undeniable and our job in surveillance of the system was more difficult. Having warships around made us quite jumpy, We were for sure at least once within radars of one of the sides, thankfully they were too busy with themselves and we were out of range for precise locating. When we finished, we didn't dare to use any known exit route and ignited jump drive to get away with gathered data in the quickest way as soon as possible.

While your offer is tempting due to not using the resources of our computer, and costs for maintenance of that. We would pass it because your origins from quite afar could make differences in hardware and software too big for it being used quickly, while our mainframe is already set and running smoothly for the tasks ahead. No really worry here, as our ship has enough memory on board for all the data being delivered in one go.

We already reached our home base, so we begin processing data as soon as possible to find the right location for the project performance.

In the meantime, there are things better to be done at your side. Multiple one time engines should be installed at your base, as well as fuel is required for them and our device once it is brought to a place.

Resource

Required amount

Purpose

Engine components 10'000 Interplanetary station engines
H-fuel 10'000 Fuel for the project device
??? 10'000 Fuel for interplanetary flight

We are not sure what fuel you prefer there, so you should decide on your own, just be aware that it should have enough inner energy to move you at least for two systems. We would need H-fuel for our work as well as it is one of two commonly used fuels where we are, the device was adjusted to work only with it. We would be able to deliver a working prototype with our ships, but resources to run it take too much space for us to get it onboard. We would ask you to take care of the list above and having it at your station.

While we wait for the cargo being delivered, we take care of processing data and running the last simulations for the device adjustments.

Best regards, Raul Golden, administrator of Intestellar Beacon.

Bonjour monsieur Golden. Another time we had a delay with respond.

We had to hire IDF transport for these deliveries. It took some time to find anybody interested. However, we made a success - materials delivered to the station.

Materials delivered:
  1. H-Fuel.5000_01
  2. H-Fuel.5000_02
  3. Engine_Components.5000_01
  4. Engine_Components.5000_02
  5. Promethene.5000_01
  6. Promethene.5000_02

When can we begin?

Good day, Julien Vachon.

We bear good news, as finished preparations on our side too.

After applying gathered data about hyperspace in the system to the standard map we were able to get the next approximation of multidimensional reality for our three-dimensional world when we finished computations.

As you can see in the image above, we have rough estimation where we should be making our jump, based on the direction leading to the required system, without touching Tau-23 direction. The red cloud going below from Orkney Jumphole is fine, as long as we don't go further than the middle of G7.

After processing all additional data, based on multi-dimensional weaknesses and energy field distributions, we received the next approximation to a three-dimensional map, to analyze the best position. Bright red lines located near the Orkney jump hole, starting from 6H to 7F is exactly what we were looking for.

Cross-referencing data from both outputs, we received the next best coordinates, which satisfy all requirements to make temporal jump hole leading to Orkney.

37628 186 58746

We made sure to check, the chosen position is outside the mine field, so it should be safe enough to use.

The prototype device is ready to be launched, all is left to supply it with the required amount of fuel to perform the transition. Once you finish installing one time engines and plot the course around anything that can be patrolled, tell us the day and time for your station arrival. We would meet you at a chosen rendezvous.

Best regards, Raul Golden, administrator of Intestellar Beacon.

Splendid even if I am not really familiar with such technologies. Our corporation was making robots and never ever was close to the hyperspace researches or something related to this.

As I can understand our next step is to move station within the system to the position where we can engage the jump drive? If yes then we are ready to start moving station after your signal.

However, I hope Kusari forces will not notice our disappear instantly. As I heard honourable warriors rammed a station in Lorraine without a reason for this and seems like they can't pass without bumping into something. Want to believe they will not decide to ram our station.

Excellent.

We would await you when are most quiet hours then, between very late night and early morning. Considering small gathered statistics of activity for the last day...

...we propose you would start moving your station starting from 4:00, going out of any known routes, without a hurry to reach our randevu on 20.07.827, at 8:00 near the mentioned coordinates to perform the transition.

Best regards, Raul Golden, administrator of Intestellar Beacon.
