For a quick set of introductions I am Captain Charles Boles with Triton Expeditions, a sub-division of Orbital Spa and Cruise. We are reaching out to our partners at DSE this afternoon as we have recently closed a deal on a Pilgrim Liner. And are in need of DSE's expert shipwrights to help modernize and refurbish this 400+ year old liner. Of course we would need to speak directly regarding the full set of arrangements required for the vessel in question, but to be honest aesthetics are a secondary concern. The primary issue appears to be the main fusion array. Functionally, my chief engineer tells me, the array is only putting out a mere 10% of the vessels original power requirements, let alone the standards that Orbital holds its Liners too. But before I get to far in my own dreams we need to speak to reality. Does Baltimore have the availability to squeeze this project in? Furthermore, we also would need to discuss costs, labor, materials, etc. Preferably before my 3rd quarter budget request is due for processing. Charles Boles, Triton Expeditions SUBJECT: ...... Liner modernisation and refurbishing Good day Mr. Boles,
Thank you for contacting DSE. Our engineers have worked with vessels suffering from power plant failures in the past. Further analysis as well as a price quote can only be done when our engineers and technicians have had the chance to inspect the liner. I suggest you bring her in to Baltimore Shipyard for a detailed inspection. During that inspection me or one of my colleagues would like to go over any other plans you may have for the liner. It would be very helpful if you can bring all documentation, schematics and maintenance logs you may have. DSE does not currently have the blueprints and schematics of this liner and knowing it's origin it may prove rather difficult to obtain. Sincerely, Lulatia Bellisario Director RE: To: Baltimore Shipyard, In Care of DSE From: OS&C|TE- - The Stagecoach - 07-19-2020 -- Incoming Message -- -- Begin Feed -- * ID: Charles Boles * Location: Cortez System * Vessel: OS&C|TE-The.Stagecoach Signal coding complete Message Beginning: \Begin Message/ Director Bellisario,
We have ordered a tow from our current location to Baltimore Shipyard which should put us on location by 17:45. While our absolutely fabulous staff have been creating a set of schematics for the vessel since we acquired it I'm afraid their focus is more on, hang on I have the report around here somewhere, ah yes, the vibe, whatever that may mean. Regarding records. We've found some documentation indicating that the Liner was intially constructed to assist in the exploration of the Ontaro System before her maintenance log abruptly ends in September 650 as. Record keeping, or what passes for it within the Junker Community, picks up again with the former owner in 821 as. It appears that from 821-824 she was providing transportation for miners from the Humboldt System to Texas, and most of the records seem to revolve around a "Number 3 manifold shunting plasma back-into the main array". Causing some sort of in-explainable power loss, on occasion. At the end of the Humboldt silver rush the former owner had her mothballed in Inverness without ever finding a solution, at least according to these logs. With any luck you'll be able to succeed where others have failed. I'll eagerly await your final verdict on actual costs for these repairs after your expert teams have an opportunity to scour the vessel after we get in. Charles Boles - Triton Expeditions CC: ..................... Lulatia Bellisario SUBJECT: ...... Liner modernisation and refurbishing Good day,
Thank you for having your vessel towed to us at Baltimore shipyard. My techs approached me with this project and I myself as the President of the company had to come see what the fuss was all about. First let me introduce myself, Harus Burke, President of DSE, glad to make your aquaintance. Now, to keep it short and sweet. We can see that in the time this vessel has been in use after it was origionally manufactured, we can see that the previous owners have..."tinkered" with the reactor core, and by tinkered....I mean it's been throughly messed with to the point of almost being inoperable. We've attempted to figure out why this was done, and the only thing we can think of, is a possible insurance scam gone wrong. Nonetheless, after spending a few hours examining this with my lead engineers, it is best that we have the entire powerplant replaced with a new or refurbished power plant that is 100% functional, so that this vessel can fly at it's normal capacity again. We can definatly get this done depending on your ability and or want to have this project completed. Our price for the labor alone will be about 50,000,000 SCthis price does NOT include the cost of aquiring a new fusion core. We can obtain one at a higher cost, unless you have a source for one yourself. Altogether we would be roughly 150,000,000 SC if we were to purchase a brand new core for the ship and have it installed. I hope this is the information you are seeking, we know this cost seems like it is a bit much, but we have a high standard for our work throughout the Sirius sector, so we like to ensure that our clients are TRULY satisfied with the end results. Please let me know if you have any further questions. Sincerely, Harus Burke President Director RE: To: Baltimore Shipyard, In Care of DSE From: OS&C|TE- - The Stagecoach - 07-21-2020 -- Incoming Message -- -- Begin Feed -- * ID: Charles Boles * Location: New York System * Vessel: OS&C|TE-The.Stagecoach Signal coding complete Message Beginning: \Begin Message/ President Burke,
It is indeed a pleasure to meet leader of such a fine and established organization, and I am uniquely excited with your personal attention to my project. Naturally with as much experience as DSE has with shipbuilding we will differ to your expertise regarding the acquisition and instillation of a new fusion core. To that end we are prepared to wire a deposit of 30,000,000 sc. for work to begin with the full amount of 150,000,000 sc. due upon completion of the work order. Please also advise of the account to remit funds to, along with a timeline for acquisition of the new fusion core and expected installation. I am glad you chose us to do this project, DSE enjoys something different all the time. It's why people come to us to get the work done! I spoke with my CFO and they advised me to have the down payment sent to DSE)Accrued.Interest. Once we complete the swap, we shall have you back on board to test everything, and then hopefully after 100% satisfaction, we will then accept the remainder of the balance due. Once we see a deposit made, we will begin the work on this project. Mr. Boles, My CFO has informed me that the credits for the down payment have been transfered to our account. The work of removing the old power core has already begun. We will have 28 engineers on the job of removing the old power core, on rotating shifts. These capable women and men will see to it that any damages caused by the previous install will be repaired, so that the new core that we have already ordered and is currently being shipped here by one of our transport teams, can be installed and fit like a glove. Please give my men a few days to remove the old core, and I will give you updates as they come to me. I expect this to go, swimmingly. Mr. Boles, I would like to inform you that so far everything has gone well so far with the removal of the old power core of your Pilgrim Liner. If you're still near Baltimore, you'll find the back portion of the Liner missing, as we are now prepping the new power core to be brought in to the vessel. If you'd like to check on the progress yourself while on station, please check in with the security personel before doing so. I have no qualms with you checking it out personally. We should hopefully have the new power core installed within the next 32 hours, and start to patch the vessel back up and airseal it again. Just figured I'd give you a progress report. Till the next one! Sincerely, Harus Burke President Director RE: To: Baltimore Shipyard, In Care of DSE From: OS&C|TE- - The Stagecoach - 07-25-2020 -- Incoming Message -- -- Begin Feed -- * ID: Charles Boles * Location: New York System * Vessel: OS&C|TE-The.Stagecoach Signal coding complete Message Beginning: \Begin Message/ President Burke,
I appreciate your continued updates with regards to the status of this project. I'm currently away on Manhattan settling a dispute with the interior designer over drawer knobs of all things. Regardless I'll make sure to catch the next shuttle back to Baltimore in time to watch the reassembling of the main reactor, wouldn't want to miss that sight.
