=CR=ILL-Hermes - Flight and Maintenance Logs - Will.Strom - 09-20-2020 ![]() Captain's Log - 09.19.827: The Crayter government accepted my application on 09.03.827. Based on my previous experience and recommendations from Intersun Luxury Liners I was given permission to assemble a crew and assume command of an Enterprise Luxury Liner, which I picked up from an OS&C representative on Planet Baden Baden. I had an uneventful trip with her from Planet Baden Baden to Sabah Shipyard, however it did give my crew a bit of time to work on her and get familiar with some of her quirks, especially around docking rings. The base Enterprise, while an excellent ship was not quite up the standards I wanted, so I had her brought to Sabah Shipyard where I had the weapons and armor upgraded to support a hopefully long life serving Crayter. While she was at Sabah I had her added to the ship database and christened "Hermes". After Sabah finished with the necessary upgrades we flew her to Baltimore Shipyard where she is currently being refitted with some additional luxuries and modifications I felt were necessary to properly represent an Intersun Luxury Liner. As part of the refitting, the Hermes has been outfitted with a docking module to allow snubcraft to dock with her. I had requested two docking modules, however one is on backorder so currently we are moving forward with the one installed. It is expected that by the time the Hermes is done with the DSE modifications and has had her maiden flight that the second module will be available for installation and we will return her to Baltimore to have it installed. I have also taken the liberty of hiring several smaller freelance traders to assist with stocking the Hermes with the necessary rare and exotic items that passengers of a luxury liner would expect. Almost all shipments to the Hermes at this point have been completed, and once all the necessary modification by DSE have been completed the crew will take care of the necessary setup and deployment of the items brought on board. Assuming all goes well with the refit and stock of the Hermes, I would expect that within the next week or two she will be able to make her maiden voyage and start providing tours of Sirius as expected of her. Once she is ready I will inform the Crayter Government so that they may provide a public announcement if so desired. RE: =CR=ILL-Hermes - Flight and Maintenance Logs - Will.Strom - 09-26-2020 Captain's Log - 09.26.827: DSE has completed the refit and I have picked up the Hermes from them and taken her on a test run to confirm there is no outstanding issues with the refit. Our first stop was Planet Curacao in Cortez where we topped off on needed supplies and picked up some crew and passengers for the initial run. We made our way towards the Luxury Liner Shetland in Poole where we dropped our passengers and restocked before heading on to Omega-5. Passing through Omega-5 to the Omega-41 jump hole was a bumpy ride, but the shields handled it without too much difficulty so there were no scratches, though the hull did get a bit dusty. We did note an ongoing battle between the Corsairs and the Red Hessians and fortunately they were too focused on each other so we were not bothered as we passed by, though we did make sure we kept our distance from the battle. After passing into Omega-41 we headed for Freeport 5 for some additional supplies and to drop off some of the passengers we happened to pick up from the Shetland. As some of the crew and passengers had never seen a neutron star, we stopped for a few minutes so they could observe its destructive beauty. After stopping at Freeport 5 we picked up some zoner pilgrims that were looking for transport to Baffin and headed back to Omega-5, where the previous battle appeared to have finished. We then headed on to Cambridge and from Cambridge we headed for Leeds. We stopped for a moment of silence at Planet Leeds to remember those that were lost, and the horrors inflicted by the Gallic Royal Enclave. While we were stopped there the GRE took the opportunity to try and attack us, but we handled them with no issues and continued our journey to Baffin via Newcastle. On arriving in Baffin the pilgrims requested a fly-by of Planet Eris and it's impressive rings, and then we offloaded the pilgrims at Shasta Orbital Skyhook. We finished our trip by heading for Sabah Shipyard, where we docked and are in the process of running full diagnostics to make sure everything worked to specs on the trip, and are having the ship cleaned and prepared for official transport use. |
