Moving forward the plan is for fancy, not-obtainable-outside-events equipment to be restricted to cosmetics only. Locking gameplay behind events or excessive paywalls (resulting from a lack of supply) is bad.

If you cant win with standat wapon you need more train not buy some expensive weapon.
