The Library - jammi - 03-26-2009

Right, I'm making this to keep track of all the stuff I've written here (that I'm willing to 'fess up to), so that I know where to find it all and so anyone who actually wants to read them can find them as well. New stories will be added to this as they appear. I've also tacked a list of all my active characters onto the end. More will probably appear as I remember them...

This is also a combined feedback thread for all the listed stories and characters. Once you've read them/interacted with them, feel free to leave a comment. I like to know what I can improve on and where my skills lie. Thanks all!

Written Stuff:

Diary of a Rōnin: After being discharged from the KNF due to his grievous injuries, Ausoi is forced to follow in his father's footsteps, finding employment in the Samura kieretsu. He is not content to sit idle in Kyushu peddling food however, much to the ire of his father.

Bretonia's Great Purge: Following an official government announcement, 'anthro-morphs' within the BAF and later Bretonia in general, were to be impounded, then deposited on Planet Gaia. This is what happened after one such drop-off.

Causality and Casualty: This is the final chapter - the tying up of loose strings.

Diary of a Salesman: Owning a ship franchised to the Superior-Keiretsu-Samura, Hiroko Kyou and the rest of the Kyou family peddle Samura produced food and goods to native citizens, tourists and passing trade throughout Kusari. This is a recording of his life.

BBC News - Disappearance of the Darwin: The colony ship Darwin has disappeared in the Dublin system, while full of refugees bound from the war-torn Leeds system. BBC news follows the rapidly unfolding tragedy. FINISHED.

The HMS Grafton: The HMS Grafton is the fourteenth vessel in military service to bear it's name. The gunboat's crew and captain are determined to make this incarnation the most successful of the lot. These are the ship's details and personnel files.

Down South: With war rumbling up North, the Bretonian Empire jealously eyes the systems to it's galactic South. With the Bretonian discovery of Omega 49, and consequently Gran Canaria in 816 AS, agreements are made with the Zoners that inhabit the area. With the Kusari invasion of the Leeds system, refugees begin to flee from the planet in fear for their lives, leading to the construction of the Port Jackson Refugee Camp on Gran Canaria. This is the story of it's birth and growth.

[Co-written with the Bretonian player government]

New Dawn: Julio Quinetillia is a young idealist who lives on Crete. He fondly remembers the days when the Sirius Coalition Revolutionary Army were permitted to wander the streets of Heraklion before the foolish corsair Elders drove them out. Now he seeks to bring about a new dawn - a Red Dawn of revolution. FINISHED.

Nathan Bryant: Nathan Bryant (now of the Slavers Union) is a dangerous man. LSF agents have scrounged a file together, created from the scraps of LPI 'reports' and analyst's guesses. FINISHED.

The Price of Sight: Corsair Enrique Estraves discovers that having his eyes adjusted to allow him to pilot fighters may not have been the best course of action. Wounded and abandoned, he awaits a slow death in the void. FINISHED.

[Co-written with Das Wild Wesen]

Planetfall: As the BAF battle to defend Leeds in space, the fighting men of the Leeds 16th Grenadier Guards prepare for a Kusari onslaught on their very home planet. Stationed at the government facility Malborough Pile, they brace themselves for the horrors of war.

[Co-written with Unseliee]

Destiny: Steven Aldridge had lived a pampered life on Cambridge, however a desire to study races disappeared long before his species stood upright, combined with a distinct lack of morals leads him into a horrifying spiral of events throughout Rhienland and Bretonia. Some things are best left undisturbed...

National Service: James Naylor heads out on a drunken binge after his eighteenth birthday... Only to find he's enlisted himself in the Army while under the influence! James tries to find a way out, before someone else tries to post him to Harris.

Right, I've just updated this to include a character list, so... Browse I suppose? So far as feedback goes, complain or congratulate, I'm open to both.

*shrugs*

The Library - Knuthetal - 04-07-2009

I thoroughly enjoyed reading James Naylor's story. The narrative jumped a little, but it was very entertaining nonetheless, and small things like the family of hangovers, saliva showers or Number Two's pipe endeavours made me grin like a madman. I'd enjoy seeing it continued, in any case.

The Library - jammi - 04-08-2009

Oh, that was one of the one's that had fallen behind and I'd forgotten about. I'm glad you liked it though - I was trying to introduce some humour to the Stories sub-forum, seeing as I've noticed a lot of the writing (including most of mine) is over dramatised and takes itself too seriously.

I'll work on getting some more posts up, and grammar checking the existing posts again, seeing as when I go back to them I have no doubt I'll spot a few more errors.

Thanks for the feedback though!

-Jamie

Edit: I've just done a complete check on National Service, correcting any grammatical and tense mistakes I spotted. I also broke up and varied some of the longer and more unwieldy sentences. In some parts I've even added new paragraphs.

I'll start working on a new post as well. I think it's time James met The Regiment.

The Library - Carlos_Benitez - 05-26-2009

I love Jammi's work. Naturally I'm drawn to the stories of his Corsair characters the most.

To anyone that hasn't had the pleasure to read any of this material; find the time. He's one of the best RP writers on the server.

The Library - jammi - 05-27-2009

Thanks Carlos, that means a lot. S'probably the best/nicest compliment I've been given during my time in Discovery:)

Soon enough I'll probably start another story for Custo', seeing as the last one was pretty bad. Then I'll probably do a story for Andrew Maloney and my other Bowex characters as well.

EDIT: It's also fairly ironic that my feedback/information thread has a higher view/post rate than any of my stories

The Library - Seth Karlo - 07-30-2009

You've helped me out a lot, and your writing is interesting and informative.

Keep it up:)

The Library - jammi - 09-04-2009

Well, thanks Seth. The story of the Darwin, as well as the ingame events were fun. But anyway, that wasn't the reason I bumped this thread.

New material has been added, specifically to Planetfall. There is also the addition of a new thread, in the form of The Diary of a Salesman. I'm particularly interested in feedback for this thread, because it's my first foray into Kusari RP in about two years. And last time my RP was pretty horrible on account of me being brand-new to RP.

So, browse and comment please.

The Library - jammi - 02-11-2010

<strike>This is the final bump to let people know that I'll more than likely be discontinuing all stories after the final one is complete. Causality and Casualty details the deaths of a number of my characters.

To all who read my works - thank you. To all who wrote with me - I owe you one.
</strike>

The Library - jammi - 09-21-2011

Just giving this a sneaky bump, because I'm interested in hearing what people think of Bretonia's Great Purge.
