Introduction First of all, let's research some recent history of Gallic story development: During the invasion of 743 AGS (827 AS) of Kusari into Gallia, the KNF attempted to carry out a 'fork' move. Initial invasion forces halted and driven away from Languedoc, the KNF returned with fresh reinforcements in an attempt to destroy Fourchambault while the northern battlegroup laid siege on Nevers in the system of Burgundy. Division of the forces was supposed to sow chaos and hinder coordination of the defending Confederate forces and achieve a strategic breach on at least one of the destinations. The maneuver worked and a large fleet of the Confederal Defense Forces, including one of its flagships, the La Fierte, was caught and annihilated in Languedoc. The Burgundian offensive, however, turned to be a disaster for the KNF, with both battlegroups deployed for the operations mostly destroyed.
Nevertheless, the loss in Burgundy was affordable due to the victory in Languedoc which had opened the way to the capital planet of Ile-de-France. The fork maneuver worked as intended. Rapid deployment of the Enclave fleets from the Hebrides, however, infringed the success of further offensive on Ile-de-France and forced the KNF to return to initial positions in Languedoc and assume defensive positions in an attempt to prepare for the advance of the Enclave and to swiftly eliminate the remaining Confederate forces moving to join in with the Enclave. The latter was caught off guard by the returning Kusari fleets, yet despite the odds managed to hold long enough for the Enclave reinforcements to arrive and change the tide of the battle. Losing their momentum, the KNF had no choice but to retreat, suffering heavy losses. Hearing of the forced retreat on the southern front, the Kusari fleet in Lorraine was ordered to retreat while inflicting as much damage as possible to the local infrastructure to undermine Gallia's capabilities to launch a counter-attack. Both sides have suffered heavy losses. Gallia lost three entire battlegroups of La Fierte, Rocroi, and Embrun, while Kusari lost half of its fleet, including the Hyono and Yamaguchi's entire battlegroups that spearheaded the invasion. While the Enclave managed to avoid the annihilation of their weathered fleets, their price for victory was the loss of Aquitaine to the Bretonians, who had exploited the departure of the Enclave's fleets and launched a successful opportunistic conquest of the system. Nevertheless, the assistance of the Enclave during Gallia's darkest hour redeemed them in the eyes of the many, allowing for the splinter states of Gallia to finally re-unite under the banner of the Gallic Union. Discovery 4.95.0 Patch 3
Only the most notable changes are listed. Champagne Rework The previous version of Champagne was large and rather grim, and the new one, I hope, has a warmer atmosphere and more pleasant for navigation as well.
It is smaller now, only 2 trade lanes of 37.5 K length each and Reims Station was made less busy following the feedback of players I asked. As well, unlawful travel distance through this system is supposed to be shorter (about 50K from Orleanais to Burgundy Jump Hole), Epernay Base was changed to a simple asteroid base and many wrecks were added to the system for a better visual narrative, telling players about the events happening here in the past. RE: Gallic Rework - Feedback - Redcroft - 12-24-2020 All great for now just the lorraine Pve zone spawns like hell friendly gb's (small armada) . Will try to work with numbers to reduce spawn, but originally maquis, gallic navy and outcasts have equal numbers of spawn RE: Gallic Rework - Feedback - AuruemSaber - 12-24-2020 (12-24-2020, 04:20 PM)Groshyr Wrote: The Gallic rework is mostly complete,Yes great rework I love all my Gallic ships tech cells and rep hacks being fucked beyond belief, 10/10 patch thank you disco devs keep up the "great" work. RE: Gallic Rework - Feedback - Groshyr - 12-24-2020 The tech cell things belong to Game Masters. I submitted requests, and I have no idea what its status and when it'll be approved, or will it be at all. You saw GM lounge. Give them time for celebrating Christmasdevs rushed a broken patch with zero coordination when this could have waited till after christmas. Let's not forget they somehow forgot half the patch and markam started just spawning devtonia lanes in 31 from nowhere. RE: Gallic Rework - Feedback - Hemlocke - 12-24-2020 Aside from most of it being worthy of the dumpster fire description during the launch of the patch, the rework has revived my interest in Gallia, something I've not had in this capacity since Gallia's implementation way back when. RE: Gallic Rework - Feedback - St.Denis - 12-26-2020 Having spent some time going around Gallia and looking at the changes, here are my thoughts on it: 1) The gaps between Trade Lanes (TLs) appears excessive. Most fall in the 3-8k range. This means every time you arrive at a Junction you have to engage cruise to get to the next TL. I feel it would be better to have the distances comparable to the rest of Sirius. 2) From exiting a TL the Stations/Planet Docking Points etc are 3k+ from the end of the TL. The Stations have been set to far back from the TLs. 3) Alesia Station - Burgundy - has been by-passed by the TL and therefore you have to drop out of it to then cruise to it. Might be better to put it at the end of the TL. 4) Guise Mining Facility is sat approx. 20k from the nearest TL and in the middle of nowhere. 5) There was a lot of cries of 'DEVTONIA' with an advent of an extra TL in T-31 appearing without any RP etc. How come there is suddenly a TL from Planet Marne to a JG to Burgundy without any RP? There haven't been any Gate Construction Bases built, nor any partly built TLs, yet these have miraculously appeared overnight. Is this a case of DEVALLIA? 6) Same as above for TL to the JG in Burgundy. 7) I also noticed a Docking Ring attached to Planet Sedan, Champagne. Haven't seen any RP behind that coming out of the blue. Maybe I just missed the RP. 8) Is the Planet Metz Docking Ring supposed to be fixed already? RE: Gallic Rework - Feedback - Groshyr - 12-26-2020 1) Was supposed to create more space and reduce feel of Gallia being too overfilled. Seems like it's not worked the proper way and therefore distances reduced in next patch 2) Already working over reducing distance, based on your feedback to Markam 3) Same as below 4) Moving Guise was Markam's proposal. I see no purpose of station being located that far but either I don't see purpose to locate it next to Orleanais Jump Gate 5) We have post-factum RP from EFL~ https://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=185272&pid=2206904#pid2206904 but still, original idea belongs to Markam 6) Same as above. However, you should remember sealed jump gate and unused trade lane in Burgundy, which used to lead to Dauphine. I suppose it was just moved to create new connection. So the only question which could rise would be "where Burgundy -> Champagne Jump Gate came from" 7) This docking ring existed in previous patch, all what I did is moved it with planet 8) What is the problem with that ring? As far as I seen it had none, but it could've changed after I submitted my files |
