The first weeks of operations have been enlightening, of our own strengths, and flaws. I bring to you today a collection of reports from our agents in various regions.

Our logistics division has been making steady work. We have sent several missions to collect and purchase necessary raw materials from the border worlds and bring them back to resource centres in Kyushu and Honshu. The keiretsu have put them to good use and provided us with essential engine, electronic and material components to be used at our production lines and development facilities. Tungsten, Vanadium, Neodymium, and even cheap Beryllium have been successfully collected without raising much alarm or suspicion. Disruptions were only minor, and occurred mostly inside Kusari space. Shipbuilding and equipment parts were then shipped from the Production plants to our own bases of Nansei and Anijima, where they will be used to bolster our spacecraft spares. In one of those sorties, our logistic group made contact with BDM agents from Rheinland, in the Sigma-15 system. Conversation with Capitan C. Trager and MND agent Walter.Manteuffel have revealed an amicable perception of KOI on the Rheinland agency side, at least on the operator level. I guess BDM weren't really as supporting of the Military advances in contested Sigma space the a few years ago.
Capitan Trager indicated that a cease fire had been agreed on the Rheinland Civil war, and that negotiations were ongoing for reconciliation. I do not know what this might entail in terms of Political views that Rheinland will adopt as policy, but the MND seems confident of returning to activity as a government backed agency. We should keep a close eye on changes of activity of MND as they become free from domestic concerns. (Communications logs are annexed below)

While logistics and diplomacy have progressed a bit, I have reports that our security operations have been hitting snags, mostly in the lack of sufficient agents and deficiency of space combat experience. While most of our agents are being brought from the Kusari Imperial Army Corps - Space Division, most have been exposed too little to multi class craft operations like our conterparts of the Kusari Naval Forces, who do this almost everyday. While most are undergoing retraining in hope for further mission deployments, a few units have started to be deployed in support of KNF operation inside Kusari space. They are excellent opportunities to improve our combat and combined arms experience, and we acquire a few tactics from the Naval Forces officers. However, our single units combat capabilities are limited, and I urge our command to consider further solo sorties to search and destroy opportunity targets without KNF presence.

Activity in the Tohoku front has seen some spikes in recent times. KNF seems unwilling to deploy more than the bare minimums to secure the Sado forward operations, which gives our Gatekeeper Division plenty of room to take the initiative, or bear the burden.

Recently I've been sent on sorties to accompany KNF detachments on patrol in Tohoku. On both occasion, we linked up with IKN-Hyuga, and on our first joint sortie we found ourselves observing an isolated Liberty Navy Dreadnought, call sign alpha_02 . Upon interrogating its crew, we found that it was operating under the misconception that Kusari had requested help in dealing with insurgency in the Tohoku system. Why Tohoku specifically we couldn't understand why.

IKN-Hyuga decided to extradite the Libertonian vessel under escort back to the Liberty front, and we did just that. Liberty Marshalls were contacted and awaited us at the border for the handing over of the warship.

In another sortie, we deployed to the aid of the Hyuga who was doing a far sweep to monitor Wild agent activities. It seemed he had made contact with a former element of a "Commune" organization. At first glance it seemed it was talk about a cult of radical nomad worshippers, but had devolved into a disperse group of individuals who had some sort of link to Nomads... alternatives? I wasn't very informed on organized foreign infected groups to make an accurate judgement, but it didn't appear to be feral. It sported some pretty dangerous technology, with a bit of a brag and defensiveness in her statement about it. Didn't get any specific names to adress the person, as conversation was midway, but it appears it referred to herself in plural terms and as C...

To my surprise, to our position came some private eye shady fellow by the "name" of Romulus , who seemed to be on a job to find the fate of a missing KNF pilot, Yuzu Takeda. The name meant nothing to me, and the KNF officers were not aware of the issue of a missing pilot, allegedly gone in the approaches to Chugoku in the Republican era. Whatever he had been doing by then would have turned classified, and whatever ship he had flown probably was a pile of space rust or scavenged for parts by the Blood Dragons weeks later his demise, if he had not defected.

Our party did find a Blood Dragon vessel patrolling nearby, and we did intercept it to try to gather intel on for Romulus on the matter. A weird decision really. A poor one too, as we gradually turned ourselves into the visual scanner range of the infected Arch, and the nomad thralls started flying out. Things turned dire soon enough, with me turning away to bring fighter support and call for reinforcements. Hyuga managed to return to Sado perimeter, but me and reinforcements of [KNF]Ryusei-1 wing were unable to to help turn the tide against a good number of Wild and a Nomad medium-large form which engaged and made Hyuga unfit for continued battle. In the heat of the encounter, the private eye Romulus slipped away, and I don't know the fate of the dragon or of the first stranger we met in that area.
