In my opinion there should be a permanent thing like this for freighters and decent profit. Just have one route like this in the game and keep moving em
Just adds an extra flavor to freighter gameplay. And gives a nice mine+haul yourself for newer guys and people that don't have miners on hand 24/7

Just give smugglers a freighter only sell point and move something like Xeno Relics to a freighter only system. That way it might actually get people to pick up stuff that barely anyone does today.

Yeah. Non Jumpable freighter only systems would be cool
Baffin itself can either
A) Be re-connected to something
B) Be used for cool unconventional stuff like this permanently
(and be made un-jumpable)
The idea is very very cool, seems very popular too. It's just so much fun mining and hauling yourself on freighter for good profit
It's seems so obvious in hindsight it's almost strange nobody came with freighter only Ores before

We have that with Tomioka, and they tried it with Leeds/Laptev but neither are/were very well traveled

Laptev wasn't well traveled because the only people playing near it were either capspam or powertraders. Laptev did nothing wrong, bring back Laptev.

It should be just slightly below with other ores if you mine+haul it yourself (Speed accounted for). And be an Ore, not a commodity imo like it is here

Following the collapse of the anomaly closest to the Planetform Assembly Point, the base suffered significant damage as did the latest Auxiliary Sample Repository that was unable to undock and clear the area in time. Planetform, Inc. has retained Weller Bros., Inc. to oversee salvage operations of the base but has decided to offer the Sample Repository for sale as salvage given its condition. Weller Bros.' best and brightest engineers have restored primary and secondary systems aboard the Repository and converted onboard power to MOX dual-fuel systems until the primary powerplant can be fully restored.
Weller Bros. will be holding an open viewing of the ship following its towing to orbit of the so-called "Goddess Geode" in Baffin, which is scheduled for February 21, 2020 at 18:30 UTC for one (1) hour. Only interested, and appropriately wealthy, individuals and corporate clients will be invited to the viewing. Open bidding on the Repository will begin on the Neural-Net on February 21, 2020 at 20:00 UTC and will close on February 22, 2020 at 20:00 UTC.

After a successful partial salvage of the Auxiliary Sample Repository and a significant number of repairs in quick order, Weller Bros., Inc. will be opening bidding. Perspective buyers may bid multiple times but must increase their bids by a minimum of $250,000,000 credits. Reserve is set at $3,500,000,000, but the ship will sell should bids exceed reserve.
