Christening the DSE)St.Helens - douglas_brad - 04-01-2009 Commodore ---- Scott Stevens - 28 - Denver, Colorado Flt. Technician - Andy Lukas ---- 27 - Houston, Texas Engineer ------- Mary Jones ---- 24 - Houston, Texas Scott Stevens - Born and raised on Planet Denver in a small suburb. He learned his way around the planet by starting up his own intra-planetary delivery service "DenverExpress." The work was steady and the pay mediocre, however, he lived comfortably. As the years wore on, he became longing for a chance to break the plane of the atmosphere as he's never seen space. A few months go by, where he finally commits to his dream. He takes an old rustic Starflier off a good friend, sells off "DenverExpress" for a cool 70 million credits, and heads off toward Manhattan. Once near orbit, Scott receives a transmission from a pilot named Lars. Piloting a Liberty tagged vessel with a heavy Rhinelandic accent. "Care to be interested in a joint shipping venture? Meet me out on Denver." After several days of financial discussions and business proposal outlines, Scott makes his way to the ship dealer looking for a decent freight runner. As the salesman drew on and on, they came to settle on an old Whale in the back lot. While this ship served good enough to turn a profit, maintenance costs were becoming staggering with decks falling through and several compartmental "fish-tanks," Scott had enough and traded across for an Albatross. The hit in cargo space seemed offset by the complimentary firepower. With the cash set aside from the sale of his Whale, he can look forward to one of them new Liberty Super Transports in the near future. Andy Lukas - Born and raised in the dense industrial district on Houston. Mainly involved in the electrical troubleshooting of passing transports, he started learning this trade at the young age of 14. Although on the side, he's just like any other Texan around. Loud, first to bring up the guns, but all around well balanced and proud. As the years move on, so does his desire to learn more. A couple weeks roll by when a huge transport only manned by a single pilot came screaming down from the atmosphere. Word got around the industrial district fairly quickly that this pilot is looking for an experienced crew. Seeing this as a good chance to refine his trade, he heads to the local bar where all the recruiting happens. Mary Jones - Also a Houston native, she did her growing up in one of the many machine shops with her father learning all the quirks of spacecraft propulsion systems, related control inputs and structural integrity inspections. She's also quite decent behind a ship of her own. Although, there aren't much opportunity for non-accredited pilots on Houston so back to the shop she went. There she sat in the bar one afternoon, when the word of a hiring transport captain came. "Seems like a good chance to get away for a bit" she said quietly to herself and heads over to the recruitment screens. |
