The Oriflamme is an ancient standard of the King of Gallia, it represents the radiant brilliance of a Nation fostered under the rule of such an exemplar. Though the flag of Gallia was formed from a component of this banner, the usage of the King's colours has brutally specific traditions associated with the context of why it is raised.
The scattered and dwindling Royal Navy no longer fight under the flag that the traitors have so blindly inherited and carried forward as if their own. Opting to honour their King and true heritage as His servants, thus this has necessitated a change in their combat doctrine. Fighting under the banner of the King demands absolute commitment to the harsh realities of war. For the King's colours to be properly honoured, no quarter can be shown to the enemy, whomever they might and however many of them there may be. All who will not willingly fall under the light of the King, will fall permanently. Branding themselves under the searing heat of the King's mark, this substratum of the Royalist cause burdens themselves with lofty standards for service and discipline. Battleship Resurgent Favouring lightning strikes over heavy assaults and protracted engagements, the squadrons of the Oriflamme wax and wane as does the moon, committing to or otherwise abandoning engagements as circumstances change. The composition of their strike wings is atypical, primarily composed of veterans with sparse allocations of recruits. Fresh faces are a rarity and are usually met with a mixture of relief and regret, because any personnel losses take substantial time to replace given the isolation of the Royalists as a movement. Life among the ranks is seen as grim and portrayed as such, there exists a deeply rooted culture that the current situation has somehow been caused by failings across various levels of the Kingdom's hierarchy, with the biggest having been committed by the personnel of the Oriflamme themselves - failing to protect and preserve the King and His Kingdom. This has in turn cemented a sense of zeal, that succeeding in the restoration of the Kingdom is of utmost importance, and that such mission must be accomplished regardless of any cost whether material or in regards to human lives. A prevailing and almost parental attitude towards their own people pervades the mindset of most if not all the currently serving officers, a Gallic citizen without faith in the Crown is simply misguided and in need of correction, like a delinquent child. Mode Operatoire
The Oriflamme zealots exercise caution as their paramount priority, favouring to enter the battlefield unannounced and undetected, subsequently, they depart with traces of their enemies in pieces floating about the empty vacuum. Their spontaneous strikes are characterised by being swift and momentary, as a show of their highly finessed skills accumulated throughout their decade long careers. A common deviation from the aforementioned strict battle-doctrine is the dispatch of bomber craft fireteams, these squadrons specialise in disrupting, sabotaging, and neutralising belligerent warship fleets by employing adeptly coordinated divebombs which disorient and discombobulate warship point-defense gunneries. A trademark manoeuvre entails in one half divebombing while the other half provides necessary cover from fighter counterattacks, this ebb and flow ultimately leads to the steady deterioration of hostile fleets. A distinct and bloody trait stains the methodology of Oriflamme - No survivors. There will be no Unionist crawling back to Gallia, nor a peddling Outcast to indoctrinate the innocent public, and lastly - no Bretonian or Kusarian left breathing without tasting the fervour of the Oriflamme. Sequentially, the general public of Sirius, and Gallia, colloquially brand them as brutal terrorists and many, many other variations. Goals
