Admin Notice: Clarification Regarding "The Entity" - aerelm - 05-20-2021

Players who fly around the outer reaches of Sirius regularly may have already come across the unidentified Nomad lifeform referred to as the "Entity". There's been some confusion around this ship, so here's hoping this will clear things up:
Also for the sake of transparency, apart from the general confusion around the nature and ownership of that character, there were some concerns raised recently regarding its use and access to admin commands - Rest assured that your concerns are heard and taken into account and we'll be reassessing and adjusting things moving forward to make sure the presence of this experimental new concept on the server doesn't end up inadvertently impacting anyone's play experience in a negative way.
This ship is not owned or played by an admin.
The character is tied to the official development of Nomad side of the lore and was given admin-approved access to a limited number of server commands to allow the character to be used for setting up special interactions. If you encounter this character ingame and are unsure how to react, all the interactions are within roleplay and can be treated as spontaneous mini-events.

why am I not shocked that someone inevitably whinged about it.
I love the dedication of the player who flies it, it's some simple fun that provokes some RP for the server. Dynamic encounters is good for RP flow. Knowing who flies it, I know he wouldn't spawn NPCs on top of people or newbies, so I have doubts about misuse. I've known more admins that abused their position to .beam away from players than this 'event character'

As one of two snubs that got a gang of beam-spamming 974590243750293472934 health gunboats spawned on them to screen a Vagrant from a fight, it's nice to see this thing's getting looked at. Here's hoping it isn't just for PR.

Entity was awesome when I met it, it wasn't bullying me or making uncomfortable complications. It just RPed around and gave me some scares. I surely support idea of such thing.

Yeah its supposed to freak you out a little when you see it. Ive encountered it, to be honest I thought that mine was the RP that lacked mainly due to the hour of the day (tired). This was interesting and at least during my encounter I was surprised at the characters abilities and felt that the person controlling it used restraint given what it could unleash. I'd like to see more.

Is it the standard expected from Entity be pursued by nearly unhittable fighters with player-grade shields, infinite powercores and weapons that melt gunboats in seconds? Not only that, two Nomad dreadnoughts equipped in the same fashion and able to catch up to any ship in the game? At this rate I should move back to Liberty, at least I got a fighting chance against all odds. We came in prepared for an unfair fight yet still logged off dissapointed.
This happened twice in the same week. First time at least we had a fleet and only one of those to fight.
Post Scriptum. I believe it is worth adding that Major was at the time populated by swarm of GC- (?) which as far I know dont have caps, single Blood Dragon (?), two Order| gunboats Nomads already had intel on, as well as considerable following of K'Hara big ships assortment.

It was a few gunboats, some snubs, and a SRP bustard. The Dragon was on a Cruiser. I don't see the problem. Everyone farms in major, but that's besides the point. We didn't see Entity, so no idea what happened there.
