I counted 16 short beeps (including the first one, which always happens) before I decided to turn the computer off. It took me a lot of time because the space between every beep was 25 seconds. The last 2 beeps were, for some reason, longer than the previous ones. The GPU was warm when I pulled it out.

Hi, first of all, when you are trying things, always try one at a time, then check the result, so you know what is causing what.

Here is a beep code reference for AMI bios (there are many sites listing them):
https://www.acs.edu.au/info/computers/computer-servicing/bios-beep-codes.aspx

The beep codes are hard to figure out, but if I understand it correctly, what you describe is:
1 beep - DRAM refresh failure.
(You see, usually the pauses between the beeps in the pattern are only 0,5-1 second long. The pauses between patters are 1-2 seonds.)

I would try this:
1) BIOS factory reset.
2) Replace the BIOS battery. (If you do not have on at hand, try other solutions first.)
3) Reseat the RAM, move it to another slot.
4) Reseat the GPU, clean the PCIE.
5) Reseat the PSU connector.
6) Try another PSU. I have not checked, but 400W should be enough.

Your motherboard has 2 RAM slots, so you can try to put the stick in the other one.
I would try this without the GPU, so you know the RAM works in the other slot.
(Some motherboards require SLOT1 to be populated in order to work.)

You have been using integrated GPU for some time right?
That means the PCIE slot has not been covered/protected by inserted PCIE card.
There is a possibility of it being filled with dust. That might cause issue. If you have can of air, blow it out.

Replacing the CR2032 BIOS battery is a good idea, it can indeed cause all sorts of issues.
Although they can last longer, they should be replaced every 2-3 years to be on a safe side.

I'll try putting Pepe's GPU in my computer tomorrow when he's not using it and see if that gets me the same result. I doubt it's dust -- it was quite dusty over the motherboard, but I have cleaned it, and there was no dust inside the PCI-E slot. It might be the battery, as it hasn't been replaced for 10 years, and I'll try out the RAM thing.

Tried with Pepe's GPU, got the same result. PC wouldn't start. Tried putting my RAM in the 2nd slot, my PC didn't like it, it kept beeping fast and turning off and on. I can't really try replacing the BIOS battery because I don't have a spare. I'm going to call a technician and see if they can help and at what price.

try launching without BIOS battery at all.
it will work fine, it will just have not persistent settings saving.

Called a technician, he said my motherboard was too ancient for this GPU. Wish I knew this earlier. Guess I'll have to work a bit more and buy a new motherboard.

Doubt he wants to sell his kidney to buy one like this.

I'll probably return my GPU and then buy a whole new PC when I can afford it. Literally everything needs an upgrade here, even the case.

Can't you just ask for a better, but older GPU from the store in return? They might have some laying around, as people usually don't buy older models. What's your PSU maker and wattage?
