This is kind of an emergency depending on how you look at it,

Lucien gave me some coordinates to an abandoned system, said next time I was out exploring I should take a look. "The ruins there are interesting," I think is the way he put it. I've already told him everything, he told me to forward this up to you directly since he's en-route back to Curacao worried sick.

Well, that place certainly was NOT abandoned at all, I don't know if you've seen whatever this thing is that I saw there - but it was alive and well.

I grew up in the Omegas, I've seen a lot of things that occasionally give me nightmares to this day. But I've never seen anything like this: [link].

Maybe it would be a good reason to go down there in force and sniff out whatever's there. That "thing" was talking to me and threatened me before it vanished. If you don't mind shedding some light on this I'd greatly appreciate it. I know this is a bit random, maybe even out of place, but I don't ask questions unless I really feel the need to have them answered.

Regards,

Heinrich

The Observer

To be fair, there is little we know about it. Any and all phenomena related to appearance of this particular form is referred to as The Observer.

  • Two leading theories are as follows: First states that it is a new Nomad form which leads Nomads into battle. Typically the largest Nomads are so called mind nodes which are tactical and strategic overminds to lesser Nomad craft in battle. Think of relays rather than a fleet commander. We normally would be able to pinpoint specific parts of the nervous system responsible for such functions but not here. Observer is simultaneously displaying many traits common with the Nomads, at the same time being so vastly removed from what we know and studied some scientists suspect we are not dealing with a Nomad entity here at all. This brings me to...

  • Second theory and the one I personally believe to be most plausible with our current information is that The Observer is some sort of Daam K’Vosh construct. Quick history lesson, Daam K’Vosh are directly responsible for the vast majority of artifacts you can find in Omega and Omicron systems. They had likely gone extinct (or left the Sirius Sector) due to Omega 41 supernova event more than a thousand years ago. Nomads are yet another active remnant of this civilization that has since started living on its own. The Observer may be some sort of autonomous monitor and a beacon that rallies Nomads to itself. It is not farfetched that some of DK's control mechanisms had survived their very creators themselves.

Whatever the truth is, it is invulnerable to conventional weaponry. It is ill advised to attempt engaging it. While itself possesses no weapon systems as we know it, Nomads aren’t too far behind it.

P.S. I am aware of this system personally. I do not want to sound rude since I took a liking to you personally but quite many civilians who ventured to this world never came back, and some of those that did either became religious pro-Nomad fanatics or worse, had greeted an incubi with open arms. Monitoring this system is one of our long term missions, but considering it is located far in Liberty Insurrectionist space, policing this system to a degree as we patrol Nomad homeworlds is impractical at best.

Senor,

The first theory would probably summarize this creature quite well, it attacked me and nearly had me killed. After a venture alongside some very unlikely people wandering into the unknown system, I managed to recover back at Akabat.

Another individual was there, someone named "Vincent Abrams". His ship goes by the callsign "Ridge" and though he insists on trying to part from all this "drama" I believe he's at it's core. We need a team to investigate him, or a single person. When the nomad Observer attacked me, he was left unscathed and "back at his home" as he claimed. Next I saw him after my attempt to retreat from the system, he was speaking to another Nomad.

Anna isn't too thrilled with how things went, and right now a dangerous amount of people potentially know where we both were residing. She'll be moving back somewhere close for now, hopefully somewhere that will keep her out of trouble until we can both head back to Curacao.

The Observer

The agents that are in Kepler have failed to even report back to High Command with anything that can be of use, but what can be expected from non-Overwatch agents not baptized by fire in the Edge Worlds… Vincent Abrams, from what we know is an Auxesian puppet that has failed to deliver a single piece of research to The Order Overwatch concerning these Nomads. At this point I believe he is a charlatan with no research background who is railroaded by Nomads or Auxesia into a specific course of action even if he himself is oblivious towards its final destination. Either way he is tightlipped and will not cooperate with Overwatch: Both attempts of diplomatically offering to continue his research at an Order site with suitable funding, nor an Order squadron sent after him in Omicron Delta changed his mind.

He is tied to our enemies and may perhaps be centerpiece to some wider Nomad agenda - of doubtful benefit to humankind. Furthermore he flew into Omicron space and got himself into fight with Order forces after he had been requested to drop Nomad weapons his blackmarket ship is equipped with. If he can’t be brought into compliance, I cannot see any other alternative than simply killing him. He will certainly be killed if he is caught in Order Protectorate without his overlords of bounty hunter escort.

If you think you can get something out of him, you have my blessing to proceed by any means you see fit. While I know your reputation as a pilot, I do not want to lose a decent agent to an ambush so remain at your guard. This entire case is covered in red flags… nothing really adds up. Keep in mind, anything that happens in Omicron Delta happens so at express wish of the Nomad hivemind. Neither us, or "Ridge" is in control of the situation and only Order seems to realize that.
