I received a report last night from one of our recon ships, Vigil-3, concerning an encounter with a Nomad Ish'tar-class warform, a Coalition expeditionary cruiser, and you. Said report made mention of certain materials you were carrying aboard your ship that may be of significant interest to the Order and a potential deal to acquire a sample of these from you.

Section 8 command has cleared a grant of 30,000,000 SC for the purchase of one unit of this material. However, due to this considerable investment and the potentially dangerous nature of the samples, we can not risk leaving the exchange in the hands of one of our recon fighters. Therefore, I would request a meeting in the Coronado system. There, the Unto Nightfall can receive the materials.

If this arrangement is agreeable to you, I will forward a time and location for the meeting.

One of my recon pilots indicated that you had a favor you wished to ask of Section 8. Please, do elaborate.

Mr. Abrams,

I believe I have seen what information Silverstone has offered the Libertonians about you. While I do not trust Silverstone - especially not after what the Auxesians told our recon pilot about him, in your presence - I am afraid that the evidence provided against you both by him and Section 8 operatives is quite damning.

The last time we spoke, I believe I instructed you in no unclear terms not to associate with the Technocracy of Auxesia and to give the Nomads a wide berth. According to what I have seen, you very much failed to abide by these instructions.

In case you do not fully appreciate the position you have put yourself in, let me explain. You have been found collaborating with Auxesia - a covenant of known Nomad sympathizers. You have been in repeated contact with the Nomads themselves, putting yourself at risk of indoctrination or, worse, infection. You were spotted with adapted Nomad technology applied to your personal ship. And, finally, you refuse to share details about your research, which - in light of the previous points - can only mean that it pertains to the Nomads.

Your failure to pay my warnings any heed and your questionable actions since leave Section 8 with only one choice. Any relation between Section 8 and you, Vincent Abrams, is hereby disavowed. You will be deemed a Technocrat and Nomad collaborator.

For your sake, I strongly advise you to distance yourself from the Auxesians, abandon whatever research you are conducting, and destroy what Nomad materials you possess. Failure to do so will force Section 8 to inform the Order Overwatch of your activity.

If you insist that insight into your research would clear your name, I suggest you share with us what you are doing. You must surely understand just how treacherous your claims that your research is not harmful yet ripe for misinterpretation sound to us. Section 8 will consider how to approach your research after you have informed us of its details.

As for the Canaan - it was a battleship destroyed in battle with the Core. There is nothing more you need to know about it.
