Johnny the Farmer - Farmers - 08-19-2021
Well, this is just my luck! My wife, Bessy, has left me this week - apparently being a firefighter is "sexier" than being a good ol' farmer - whatever Bessy, my manure shuffling powerful spirit will attract somebody better. Unfortunately, Bessy turned out to be a spiteful arsonist too and burned down my farm - the gosh darn firefighter boyfriend probably told her how to do it. Well, there was not much left for me, I sold my trusty plow, Ricky, took out my savings, and as farmers do, put down a downpayment towards a massive heavily armed warship to go find greener pastures, as farmers usually do.
I call her Bessy Two. And I hope this one won't let me down.
First travel Well, I left Stuttgart and found myself in some system or some such. Trying to seek farmland, friends and who knows - maybe yet another Bessy? I looked here I looked there Even found some sort of collective that doesn't like farmers. I betthey are firefighters too. I did meet some friendly Zoners and then some fellow friendly farmers. One thing was strange with these guys - there was plenty of meat at the station, but no livestock to be found - and they did kinda look at me with a keen appetite. Oh well, foreigners, am I right? I then met - just my luck, a Luminary! A lamp salesman in this new system is the first one I met! Well - he darn tootin' wasn't going to get my business right there as I don't have a farm yet I could Iluminate, but I wished him good luck on his sales calls. And that was too much excitement for one day. I may have not found my farm yet, but I have high hopes for my adventure. |
