Hall Resigns
NEW LONDON - Prime Minister Elizabeth Hall assembled the cabinet this morning and informed everyone of her decision to resign by Monday. More details further in this article.

The prime minister said that she would use the weekend to elect a new leader for the Whig Party, and that is the sole reason her resignation will be postponed by these two days. Hall has agreed to leave us a comment and she said that she intends to retire from political life. "Some might know that I co-founded the Steiner & Hall ammunition factory on Sprague during my time in office. If I can't serve Bretonia from a political office, I will do my best to supply its military", she said. After weeks of political instability, the prime minister's resignation does not come as a surprise to many. Lady Sarah Mountbatten, foreign secretary and deputy prime minister, will take over the cabinet for now, until a new prime minister is elected. However, tensions are not receding between the Royalists and the Whigs, and while some Whigs have recently changed their allegiance to the Royalists, most express happiness that this coalition will not last much longer. Whig ministers have agreed to not resign as long as Lady Mountbatten conducts new elections within the next two weeks.

Mountbatten has said that she intends to reunite the Royalist Party, which was broken in two when the Whigs seceded more than a year ago, and she claims that she will restore it to its former glory. Whether the parliament wants that to happen or not remains to be seen. The BBC will continue to cover this story as it develops. In the meantime, feel free to leave a comment!
