I always considered this diary format to be a waste of time. Sitting down in front of a camera, or just writing down one’s thoughts seems like a waste of time. Why should I write down my thoughts, or events of my life? I’m here to tell them, I'm not going anywhere.

Or so I thought. I won’t be here forever to tell them. Especially not considering this little mission I got myself into. Some might even miss me, if I disappeared without a trace. Given all that, I might as well start from the beginning. Just a quick summary, so I can actually talk about recent events.

Always the same beginning. Me and my awfully curious nature. When I saw Raven and Vinny, I didn’t have much of anything in mind. Stay around them for a bit, see what they are up to. Since Raven’s ship looked quite fancy, I figured I could squeeze a bit of money out of her. Not the usual means, no. I always used the term “piracy” quite liberally. You don’t need to hold anyone at gunpoint; there are other ways. You can try getting into their heads, and eventually people will pay you to not live in their cranium rent free. Of course, I didn’t do either in their cases. Just like a helpful LPI, I was the pirate you can trust. Something that shouldn’t really exist.

Okay, so. Here’s a quick version. Vinny poked some anomaly; it angered the lava lamps. I helped slow down the squids, while they ran to Hudson, and somewhere else later on. I got a fat check from Raven for helping them. This is where my involvement started, mostly because my curiosity got the better of me. I know a cat has 9 lives, but I’m not sure how many have I exhausted already. Curiosity might just kill the cat.

Whenever I meet up with those two, I end up in some situation related to these Nomads, or “Sentinels” as these ones are called. “Beam boys” would be perfectly appropriate too. What kind of situations do I mean? Here’s a list.

• Being chased by these Sentinels through Colorado.
  
• Getting thrown into some dead hellscape of a system with a Neutron Star, while trying to prevent Vincent from doing something stupid.
  
• Get shot by the Navy even more. (This is was bound to happen either way.)
  
• Chucked into some place with a huge sleeping sentinel in search of Vinny.
  
• Have one too many of my ships disabled.
  
• Plenty of confrontations, and other emotional stuff that I really didn’t need.
  
• Getting into situations where none can help the other.
  The list goes on, I’m just getting bored of this whole autobiography format. I’ll get back to it sometime later.
  

P.S.: If I do end up being killed, Ash is going to be really pissed off that I left her out of the first entry. Yup, it’s on purpose.

Yup. That's all I'm willing to record tonight. I had to herd these two together just so they would listen. Vincent and Raven. At least I hope this time they moved somewhat forward. One is dense, the other is stubborn. Great combination. Still, I gotta root for them. I just hope they can sort themselves out. They'd look cute together.


P.S.: I'm glad there weren't many people tuned into the widely broadcasted frequencies. This could have ended way worse.

None of this is going anywhere.

Well, that's not quite right. I did do something in these last months. Angered the order, became public enemy number one for a brief few days. Xenos, Rogues, both wanted a piece of me. Eventually managed to avoid both, though I feel like the former will come back to shoot me sooner or later. Must suck to be in the pocket of that division of morons.


After all this? Everything died down. No more messages from Ash. No calls from the bird, save for once. Played live bait in Hudson one last time, and that's it.

Ever since? Quiet. So quiet I even did a trip to the Omicrons and back. Got no messages waiting for me. I'm starting to question whether any of this was a good idea. Maybe I shouldn't have let myself be anchored because of a promise.

What's done is done, but still. I'm beginning to question my own choices. All I will get out of this is a footnote in someone's journal, and that might be pushing it.


I know this entry is long overdue, I just didn't have the time. I gotta scrape together the funds, which means busy days full of odd jobs, piracy, or just simple errands.

What wouldn't I give to be on Erie right now, resting on a beach.

I had this weird feeling all the way home. As if I forgot something. Must have left something at the freeport in Theta. I don't know, but something is off.

It is about time I take inventory of the ships I own. Most of them lay unused, or are in a general state of disrepair. This can't go on any longer, feeding the pockets of Junkers by renting hangar spaces is low on my list.


Here's a piece of work. My longsword. Can't get rid of her that is for sure. I got her from a Junker for a price that I'd rather not disclose. An excellent ship that helped me weather a few storms, roll with a few punches. It is especially amusing considering my prior experience before flying this ship was with shuttles and smaller freight craft.
Here are a few things to consider:



She's a keeper for the time being. I'll have to consider some alternatives with more of a punch.

The good. The bad. Here's the ugly.


I got this for some change and a half chewed packet of gum. Why? I needed a backup for the times the longsword was getting repaired. Just something that flies, has guns that fire forwards and won't fall apart. Honestly? She did the job just fine. Even saved my ass when I was thrown into a wild ride through the Prophet. Let's list the good things about this rag-tag 'fighter'.



Probably will scrap her. She had a good run at least? I guess?

Figured I'd leave a couple more notes. Have to remind myself periodically that this logbook exists.

I scrapped most of my old ships, just to make room for the new transport. It's working just fine, the Masquerade can pack a punch. Still wouldn't mind a couple of upgrades, so here's a list for that.

• Thruster array. Could use a bump in top speed.
  
  
• Power distribution and capacity.
  
  
• Weapons array. At least two heavier weapons. Might have to consult some friends about that.
  
  
• Shield emitter. Closely linked to the power distro, so that's going to be a pain.
  

That's all the ship related news. In other news, Revenant is probably in a dungeon getting her cables tortured. Caliban is still doing whatever they were doing but less coherent. Or more. Hard to really pin it down.

Oh also. Pennsy is fucked again. I hope I can muster something combat worthy for that ordeal.
