having an issue joining discoveryrp - Bongoz - 03-16-2022

good evening everyone,

im having an issue joining the discovery rp server, i joined it roughly 5 months ago without issue, and got off since then, i tried joining again so i could play with a friend, but whenever i joined the server i got this error:

"The connection to the server has been lost. Either the server you were connected to has crashed, or your internet connection to that server is not working. This is usually an intermittent problem. Please try again later."

so i immediately went to the discovery discord in search of help and they said to try a different character, i did to no avail, then i tried to do a different account, didn't work i thought it might've been a mod i had installed (that i connected to discovery with before just fine), so i tried reinstalling my freelancer and my discovery, and it still didn't work
i was then told to go to the ip ban thread on this same fourm, but i was just told my antivirus might've been doing something (which it wasn't), then after trying a bunch of times in desperation, it banned me.

"I'm sorry, but the account that you entered has been banned from this server. Please choose another account and try again."

so now i'm coming here, i'm getting pretty desperate so please, if anyone has this issue or the fix to it,

please tell me

the characters i can remember that were affected were:
  • BongozFart
  • Kar'Bongozo
  • common_name
  • BongozGoBOOM
  • pleasedontkickme
  • a few other ones im too dumb to remember

Hi i had the same problem some weeks ago !
The problem was that i had 7 characters on the account ! With admin help transfer one character to another account and you can log in!

sadly, this is not the case for me, i've made new accounts and the account that it first started happening on only had 1 character anyways, so i have full doubts that is anything account wise

Hey, I have a same problem. I can't join the server even with the new account and even after a clean reinstall of FL and Discovery. Not really sure what to do.

Hey, I actually fixed this a good while ago, turns out the only thing I needed to do was factory reset my PC, as nothing else was working, after doing this it worked like a charm
