One more question: As I explore and discover bases, do I need to dock at each to get them listed on my commodities list? Or is discovery enough on its own?

I mean it depends what kind of ID you have. If you have a Freelancer ID most of the bases will be on your map and commodities are already listed as you will see for yourself.

The ID doesn't add or remove anything to your map. The initial restart does.

Okay, thats what I meant, thank you.
@Davxxx and if you plan on being a Freelancer for now, make a restart as a Freelancer anyway, that will give you whole neutrality to most of the factions.
