This has really been a long trip getting here. The crew has been under a lot of stress lately and based on what I'm hearing out of engineering, it should soon come to an end. The workload that both me and Kaplain have been requesting so far has been intense, but necessary to get the Cloak to higher standards.

Now that we have departed Edinburgh and arrived in Zeta, we plan to conduct extensive tests on the Cloak. Waxford tells me that he wants to have a firm reading on it's operation in the long term, specifically out in the Edge worlds and in systems that have more rampant hazards. At the moment we are floating around Omicron Zeta and performing cycling tests and checking for any inconsistencies in the Control systems and the Cloak. Further examinations will also prove if any further calibration must be made, although based on the work that BMF made, we don't expect to see major room for improvement.

We intend to drop by a number of other areas as well including our old testing ground of Omega 11 and further into the Omicrons. The local background radiation does seem to be having a slight effect on it, with stability holding at about 95% at the most. With the shields being offline during the Cloaking activation, there could be a need to adjust the Azurite system to compensate, as far as I'm told anyway. Varying radiation across different systems and areas is expected to have different effects. The new cloaking protocols have also slightly modified how power is transferred and this needs to be kept a close eye on for the time being. There is potential progress that could be made with overseeing the cooling system, as there was few changes made to that and the Cloaking coils seem to get to high temperatures after extensive use, albeit within safety limits.

Now that a number of successful tests have been completed, Waxford and his team have told me that their calibration efforts have had some positive effects on the Cloaking drive. A processing error was located in the protocols and has been worked around using our sharp computer minds onboard. The Hybrid Azurite system has been closely monitored and it is showing performance that is above expectations.

The most notable change recently is the 3% power increase to the Cloak that has been improved upon. Even minor changes such as this will prove helpful in the long run. This was achieved by the science team coming up with a minor modification of the Azurite injector that will have less lead-time in the power transfer process.

The Cloaking screen changes made by BMF also run on a different EM band than the old one. The technical manuals that the engineering team have come to observe using the different band will give the Stormhawk added resilience against outside interference while using the Cloak. This was a unexpected result as in the past, I am told that only a 5% average increase was made to prevent background interference from disrupting the Cloak's normal operation. The newer Cloaking screen now brings that number up to 9% over default numbers. In addition to all this, a curious change has been a very different "shimmering" effect of the screens as they hide the ship.

Now that the Hybrid control system has been optimized to what is believed it's highest standard to be, final cycling protocols and lengthened up-time monitoring will commence. The engineering team has begun to bring the Cloak to it's full operating standards and we hope that very soon, we can use it for normal operations once again. Proceeding into covert operations with a limited functioning Cloaking device is not something the Stormhawk can do anymore.

The most recent cycling tests had to be cut short. A problem was found in a secondary power junction leading up to the Cloaking device. After some hours of diagnostics, engineering located a faulty capacitor that needed replacement. It appears that the junction was close to failing entirely which would have put a impact on our schedule. Fortunately, the problem was found quickly and rectified by disassembling the junction and replacing the capacitor. The circuits were also tested further to check both the through-put and bypass capacity.

I was told it will take additional time to conduct a safety inspection of that part of the system before we can finalize our trials. Once that happens, we should be ready.

Waxford and his team are now fully confident with using the updated protocols for the Cloaking device and have tied up any lose ends with the Azurite hybrid system. This along with the fact that the Nomad Fuelcell is still functioning as expected, should make for a prompt completion of the upgrade. What was purely experimental and in some cases theory only a few months ago, has become a firm reality for us.

I have been informed by both my science and engineer departments that all of their checklists and final tests have been completed. The cycling issues have been resolved after previous maintenance. We can confirm that the cloak can correctly fully activate and maintain significantly longer time online since the Project began and with no interruptions or other issues. Power transfer controls are functioning seamlessly and both the Azurite Hybrid system and Nomad Fuelcell are working very well with each other.

As a final test, we deployed to Omicron Lost and Psi under Cloak to ensure no anomalous events occurred. After extensive time closely examining the results, we can be assured that the Cloak will operate in a wide range of environments without running into any major problems.

Upon our return, the Cloak was again tested for higher strain power settings in case any potential surges. With several hours put into this, the Cloak held up very well and the improvements from BMF seemed to have had the main effect on keeping everything together. It is almost hard to believe that we have come this far, but it looks like Delta 4 finally made it. The Cloaking device has been enabled to full operational standards and can be once again used for everything we need it for.

At the closing of this log, project Fade Out is now being declared successful and mission complete.
