It's sad to see 3 established community members getting sanctioned for acting in RP because a rather redundant ID clause takes precedence over good RP...

I'm not saying that I did no wrong, I'm not saying it isn't my responsibility to read the ID. I was at fault, and I apologize.
Having said that, I don't agree that this sanction, or the ID clause makes any sense.

For example:
A Corsair sees an OSC ID/tagged lux liner carrying gold in Omega-3. The natural and correct thing for a Corsair to do? Pirate it.
The OSC doesn't act like a proper OSC, declares he isn't going to pay a dime (language has been cleaned up somewhat) and insults the Corsairs. The natural and correct thing for a Corsair to do? Kill it.
Somehow this is illegal.

I don't see what good comes from restricting players from making their own RP judgments as to where/how their faction's diplomacy lies. Protecting a mass of traders, who don't behave as OSC should, by punishing a few well inRP pirates seems very counter productive.

Perhaps the clause should be removed.

I would also like to add I appologize for breaking a rule. I fully accept the well measured punishment...

Thank you gentlemen, appreciate your posting. Unfortunately all we have to go on is the current ID
parameters at this time, whether anyone likes them or not.
If you feel the IDs are unsuitable, we suggest lobbying for change in the future.
