Fleet Admiral Sommerville,

First let me introduce myself - I am Agent Aaron Hastings, BIS, and I have been tasked by my agency to share with you highly classified information regarding matters in the Orkney system, namely the infamous Issoudun Shipyard.
  • According to our reports, the Issoudun shipyard was destroyed some time ago - the exact date is unknown to us at this time due to a very strict information embargo by the Gallic authorities. According to long range scans, the remains of the station are located at the C3, C4, D3 and D4 in the system. This space is carefully guarded and monitored by the Gallic authorities.

  • We have reason to believe that the station was destroyed by outside forces as the station was lost with the vast majority of the crew and very few survivors were rescued. If it was a targeted demolition of Issoudun Shipyard, it is reasonable to assume that the Gauls would not have left so many key personnel on it.

  • We have been able to access the list of survivors and some of their statements from unofficial sources, according to these sources these people are now missing and their testimonies cannot be verified again. The exact cause of their disappearance is not known, but it can be assumed that this is another step to cover the tracks of the destruction of the Issoudun shipyard.

  • The survivors' statements differ as to the cause of the station's destruction - the destruction is attributed to the Maquis, the Gaians, the Gallic Navy, and, most notably, unknown purple-glowing ships. We have reason to believe that it was in this last case that the survivors were attempting to describe the Nomads and this is probably related to the last point of our findings.

  • In a long-range scan of the remains of the Issoudun shipyard we were able to find faint traces of energy of unknown origin, which does not fit with any of our knowledge of Gallic technology. We have reason to believe that Issoudun Shipyard held weapons or equipment of an origin or principle as yet completely unknown to us or that the shipyard was destroyed by such weapons. To further confirm or refute the theory of unknown weapons, a closer analysis of the wreckage of the station will be required - however, this is beyond our capabilities at this time.

As per regulations, a more detailed report will be delivered in physical form to your office at 2000 hours today. That will be all from me, Fleet Admiral.

Agent Aaron Hastings,
Bretonia Intelligence Service.

Agent,

As the Admiral of the Royal Navy is currently overseeing other matters on Planet Cambridge, I will provide an answer on the Armed Forces' behalf.

With that made clear, I shall get to the subject. The Armed Forces have no desire to intervene in Orkney at the current moment, even will the Nomads causing havoc in the lines of the Gauls. While we are aware of their presence -- moreover will his classified data being brought to us -- the Nomads pose no threat to Bretonia. Nonetheless, the BIS will be representing our eyes and ears in the system, and I hope that is sufficiently clear. The Royal Navy will depend on your efforts.

I firmly believe that there is no need to remind the command of the BIS of our stance, however, to avoid any confusion, I ask that you also forward this information to your superiors. The report will be brought to the Admiral Sommerville at the earliest time.

That is all I must inform you of.

Horatio F. Bartholomew

Captain
Bretonian Armed Forces
