Fellow Corsairs, brethren.

I come before you all at the advent of a new chapter for our Imperio.

Recent events have clearly shown that the current system of Corsair governance is not fit for purpose. Can we confront the dangers of our time while facing sickness from within? A poison that seeks to damage our resolve, our unity, and our purpose?

It is evident that the self-proclaimed Council of Elders is nothing but a pretense for the Brotherhood to push their personal agenda and their own ends. Spilling with sycophants that profess the ‘interests’ of us all, while we do the fighting and dying. Interested only in making shady, one-sided deals, while bowing to foreigners for their own benefit.

Clear as day - it was only at the behest of foreigners that we were involved in the fate of our Imperio at all. The Brotherhood’s perusal was self centered. Fueled by a desire to hinder progress in our space from growing so as to preserve their power. As the records show - they will not stop. Even if that means threatening or sabotaging the supply efforts of other Corsair installations. Where was the so-called Council or Brotherhood during our skirmishes and wars in the last year?

It’s time for change. It’s time to establish a political system that represents everyone fairly - based on merit, based on contribution and based on power. Tangible power. We will elevate our society to a new standard. And in doing so, build a government that can protect its territory, its self-determination, and most importantly - its people and its honor.

Deterrence has therefore decided to form the Senatus de Imperio Corsario - together with Helios Eparchos from the Custodi and Salazar Caesar from the Roman Praetorian Prefecture. An attack on one means an attack on all. A word given, a bond made, never broken.

Despite their treacherous and selfish history, the Brotherhood were still offered an honorary admission into this new and fair system, as all others have been invited. They refused, still rejecting the other Corsair entities in our society. To them, some corsairs are worth much less than others. Expendable even. Should the Brotherhood find any shred of reason or responsibility towards our Imperio in them, they are still welcome to approach us in the future. For now, they stand alone.

Embrace my reassurance hermanos y hermanas, the time of confusion is over. Our Senatus will bring prosperity, unity, and progress for you, our citizens. A new system designed around the appropriate representation of all Corsair people regardless of station, origin, or faction allegiance.

A true independent representative of the people will be elected and rotated, not just some puppet propped up by the old regime. All factions will be represented in our government regardless of their status and size, but relative to their power and contribution.

We urge every other Corsair faction out there to make a motion for ratification, addressed to the Senatus de Imperio Corsario. If the Iberians, Black Flag, Taurus, or anyone else is still out there, reach out to us. We accept you and welcome you.

As for the immediate future, priority numero uno is to secure a contract with Kusari - one that benefits all of our people. We shall not stop there - our economy will be a continuously evolving element, driving the expansion of our fleets and streamlining our logistics. Our installations and their fortifications, as well as our dominance over our borders will grow. We’ll revisit our existing laws and improve upon them. The Corsair expansion is here, and will not be stopped.

Blood, sweat, and toil forged our spirit. We’re moving into a new chapter of history. Be ready. Doubters, sycophants of the old order that are too weak to embrace the change, beware. Adaptation is our birth-right. We’ve conquered the stars and so shall we form an indivisible whole that is ready to destroy any and all enemies to our Imperio - foreign or domestic. Mindfully embrace the new order for we all shall prosper from it. Our policy is prosperity, our purpose - victory. Our currency - progress.
